Just Scan your Ballots into My Electronic Counting Machine,
and your paper ballots/votes will be safe and secure, I will have to take your ballots out of your neighborhood and I will do an audit/hand count, so that you can feel secure that my electronic counting machine, counted your votes correct.

As long as you allow me to take your paper ballots out of your neighborhood to count them, you can rest assured I will do everything to make sure your ballots are counted accurately.

We fall for this SHIT time and time again.

If you allow your ballots to leave your neighborhood before they are Hand Counted, IN FULL by the people in that neighborhod, you are BEING CHUMPED!

How do we put a stop to this?

1. Pile It On
Keep tightening all the solid proof that 2000 and 2004 were stolen. Eventually a critical mass of awareness will develop. Keep documenting. The masses will eventually realize that election fraud is one of our biggest concerns. People are generally good. Keep in mind that those in power are shallow or greedy. They also do not play fair. We have to be in this for the long haul.

2. You don't ...
because mischief can take place in the neighborhood and out of the neighborhood. The number of ballots at a precinct must equal the number of voters that received a ballot at that precinct and the number of votes reported to the supervisor of elections. With the system we have in my county the votes are tabulated locally before being shipped to the supervisor of elections. Worked great in the 2000 election compared to the punch & touch systems elsewhere in the state.

3. So you are happy with My Electronic Counting Machine,
COOL, I count them so you don't have to, I take your votes to an undisclosed location far far away from your neighborhood, and from that undisclosed location I tell you everything is A-O-K with my vote counting machine, and your good with that?

UNBELIEVABLE!!

CHECK THAT,

UN-F-CK-NGBELIEVABLE!!!

precinct (of course using the scantron equipment) and then the results are transmitted to the supervisor of elections. The ballots are held and transported to the supervisor of elections (local) and are available for review and recount if there is cause.

Far away is relative, as the supervisors office is no further than 15 miles from any precinct.

Sure beats the mechanical machines and punch cards

5. It's funny that the punch cards worked for 30 odd years

7. They been messed up for years ...
... it took an election (2000) that close with that many votes to show the 1 to 3% error factor.

At least when you use the scantron system - there is a name and bubble next to the name - if its filled in, there is no question as to the voter's intent (i.e. hanging chads).

9. I agree that paper scantrons are the best way.
And I stand corrected on the punch cards... It looks like my knowledge was as good as Fox&Friends on that one. mea culpa.

8. Do not let the people Hand Count the ballots
in their neighborhoods, My machine must NEVER be used as a auditing device to secure peoples hand count of the ballots, My machine is strictly for amusement purposes only, our machine pretends to count ballots/votes then to get them ballots/votes away from the people and out of their neighborhoods before they get the idea that maybe they should hand count them BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

My machine is a powerful device, I make the rules.

12. Test the system .....
you can request to hand count the ballots for past elections and compare them to the electronically reported results. Pick your locale, pony up the dollars, and go for it; we await your results.

6. Electronic Voting Machines Have To Go
Get rid of the war industry, and you'll have plenty of money for a paper ballot system. The receipt idea won't work either. Those in power become their own "auditors."

I vote for hand counted paper ballots!

10. I think that computer scoring of scantrons would be sufficient
you just need to have independent audits of the scoring readers and ensure that the chain of custody of the ballots remains intact. Have people slip ballots into a locked box, then take the ballots (police officer plus a representative from each of the 2 parties) to a central processing facility that has cameras all over and provides live feeds to the interwebs. Run the ballots twice, and if discrepancies occur (above some set percentage), then you do a manual recount.

14. That won't work
The scantron ballots can become useless too and misread. There is no other solution than hand counted paper ballots using markers.

Those who audit are part of the problem. We have a constituitional right to fair elections. All votes and evidence must be secured. This is a crime scene. This is treason.

No electronic machines are of any use.

It's simple, the only way to ensure that every vote is counted correctly is for it to be secured as evidence Civic classes will have to teach students about how the elections have been rigged.

17. I disagree. Scantrons work great in everu high school and university
I have never had a test mis-score. PLus, you put in bold letters that the bubble must be filled in completely, or no vote count.. You have the precinct captain check to make sure it is filled in.. You have a cop on duty at all times at polling places. It would be unfeasable to have all hand counting of ballots. It would take months. Electronic machines are not the problem-- private source software and closed systems with no independent verification is the problem.

19. Perhaps we should agree to disagree
Scantrons are not infallible. I am not an expert on them, but there is cause for concern.

Folks who are against electronic machines are not going away. Those in favor of electronic machines with dubious paper trails may think it is inevitable that their dogma will always rule the day. Long term, however, we will have paper ballots hand counted.

18. I agree that would be the best way
but I think if you maintain the chain of custody, then central processing is okay. You just need to have transparency. Have the ballots be GPS tracked, plus a police officer and a representative from both parties take the ballot box to the processing facility.
