Listen Up, and Listen GOOD.
Enough defeatism. Enough negativity. Stop it!

We have enough of an uphill battle ahead of us. Those of you who believe, who know in your hearts what the America we were raised
in really means, who have educated yourselves about what is really going on under this administration, you know this:

We will NOT give up.
We will NOT let our country be stolen from us.

John Kerry, I'm talking to you.
John and Elizabeth Edwards, I know you're reading this.
Tom Daschle, are you listening?
Bill and Hillary, listen up.

We, the educated, who make decisions using our reason, our brains, and our logic: we KNOW that the America that has come to be under this administration is not what our founding fathers intended.

Skinner, kudos to you and all the regs here who have provided a place for us to come together.

We KNEW they would try to steal this. We KNEW Diebold would play in Florida and Ohio. Now, the second act is up to us.

Do NOT concede. Do NOT roll over and give up. Fight this with reason, intellect, and research. Do NOT let the momentum we've built up fade away with a pathetic whimper.

-Absentee ballots.
-Provisional ballots.
-Military ballots.
-BBV organizations.
-Legal action.

There are still many paths to take and strategies to pursue. Quit throwing your hands up. Hang in there. Endure.

And, if it makes you feel any better, if precedent actions by this administration are any indication, there is a good chance that a second * term will NOT be completed. Too many international laws have been callously broken. Too many lies have been told to the American people and to the world. If Bill Clinton can be impeached over getting a hummer, what will happen to a man who blatantly lied in a State of the Union address, invaded a country that posed no threat to us, killed more than 100,000 of their innocent citizens and more than 1200 (officially) of our own honorable kids?

It's never over until it's over. I refuse to allow the mainstream media to tell me how to feel or what to believe.

Regardless of what happens, do NOT give up on DU and do NOT give up on our true America.

Now we are going to need to stand together more than ever.

41. I disagree
Has not the Internet challenged the mainstream journalists to remember what they went to school to do? Have not bloggers taken up the banner of honest, ethical, on-the-ground reporting?

Think about Sinclair and how quickly things were organized to protest the FCC violations. The Internet is very real--let's enjoy it while we still have it . . .

That is exactly what they want you to think. It is NOT lost.

We are clearly going to have to examine how we educate those who just don't get it. Luckily, I think that IF * gets a second term, his actions will more than prepare the ground to plant our seeds of reason.

16. Did it? Or were we defrauded?
There may be a plurality of Theocratic Fascists, but I don't believe that even half of the population is fascist. I still have hope we can turn this around.

But I hear you. My whole family is filled with these fascists and it's a depressing thing to watch. What we need is to bring more children of these theocratic fascists out of their old belief system--with care and loving kindness. It hurts. That's why these fascists cling so tightly to their beliefs.

Most Repubs I know refuse to educate themselves about the facts. They cling to emotion, mainstream messages, and faith.

Trust me, I've spent my life amongst them. I'm a reformed Repub.

Standing in line to vote early on Saturday, I struck up a conversation with a hippie-looking family in front of me. When I finally screwed up the courage to ask how the wife was voting, she said, "We're voting our faith--we're voting for *. We don't even need to know about any other issues."

That says it all, my friends. Hoodwinked all across our land.

I'm a Christian who believes in judging a man's faith by his actions, not just by his words. And what she said? That dog don't hunt with me.

We have a LOT of work to do. Luckily, we have intellect on our side. It won't be easy, and we might have to reassess our methods. But what easy fight was ever worth winning?

After the months I've spent lurking here, I've learned so much that has given me new resolve. I don't care if it takes me the rest of my life--I will never give up on the America I know and love.

(edirt for speeling)

20. I don't think that legal actions are going to help
It does not appear that close as it was four years ago

We just developed a whole groups of people who take all the social fabric of this country for granted. Who hate union and feminists, but just love the fruits of their battles.

We have developed into selfish people who just think of themselves, of their McMansions and gas guzzlers of never stopping to think of others. Yet, when things will go wrong for them they will come crying for... yes, the government, to help them. But by then Bush will destroy the economy so that even if he wants to, he won't be able to help.

The irony is that we always think that every one can succeed in this country but the Bush boys demonstrated that having a sugar daddy is the main requirement.

21. I'm not giving up, but I am going to be realistic.
If * wins, and I'm still a long way away from admitting that, then impeachment/conviction is not going to work. The reason is precisely the same as why Clinton wasn't convicted. Namely, if the public is not behind it, it ain't going to happen.

There's lots of battles still to fight, but this just doesn't seem productive.

Now, to quote a DU favorite, "Let's Go Get Those Bush Bastards!"

Gore won the popular vote in 2000; if a Kerry victory comes at a popular-vote defici9t, so be it. This might lead to the elimination of the electoral college...two popular-vote loser Presidents in as many elections.

We are focused more than ever, we have built our armies (the good kind) We have a vision, and we believe in the force for good.

We will triumph over the evil empire that has brainwashed and manipulated so many less - perceptive people.

45. PROOF NEEDED
I am shocked, let me explain, and someone get a hold of Jon Stewart and all of us, keep on CBS and CNN to keep up the fight for the truth to come ---

I was shocked to see such heavy Kerry turnout in my area of Eastern Florida, I was a poll greeter, by an even margin we had just as many smiles and waves from kerry people as the bush guy got next to me with his "honk for bush" sign. he said the SAME thing.

secondly, I saw the EXIT POLLS right after the voting stopped in FL and OH (officially stopped that is!) at 7pm, and they were noticebly for KERRY, and FLORIDA had 13% youth vote compared to 6% last time. Then I thought about the huge lead of worried-about-their-vote-not-getting-counted-at-the-poll-democrats who voted in EARLY VOTING, as USA TODAY said, by a noticeable margin for Kerry and YETTTTTTTTT, in the very first 6 or 7% projection from Florida that was released just after 7pm it showed Bush leading 55-45, HELLLOOOO?????

Something is up, the fix is in, this can't be credible, I don't buy it, around 400,000 more votes for Bush in FLorida EVENNNNNNNN when Fox News-Opinion Dynamic showed a 2% KERRY lead in Florida 2 days ago, and supposedly there's a 5 point Bush win here???????? That's NOT within the MOE folks!!!!! Also, Zogby had Kerry ahead here in two consecutive polls before the election before the Fox poll!

Finally, they're saying Bush can win even if he doesn't win Ohio (not sure if he can win without Wisconsin, haven't spent the time), but I am sad to say, I said this to all my friends and family that they've said Ohio was their top secret weapon, that they were going to win there, and it sure looks like they did everything to supress the vote by the actions they have taken.

God help us. I have my opinion, sorry it doesn't mesh with most, but unless there are 200,000 provisionals, it doesn't look good, under 150,000 and it'd be near impossible to come back from what kerry is SUPOSEDLY (bull crap we all know) down in Ohio. Of course, the vote there was so screwed up, that I want to go to bed and wake up and think this didn't happen, as someone else put, this is my worst nightmare coming true. I am counting on my God to be there for us somehow, however He wants to help those of us who can't seem to believe this hate warmongering sheep in wolves clothing has coaxed a majority to vote for him.

I remain positive about America's future, this will not stop the advancement of democracy, true democracy, we will successfully get rid of this facist government.

I don't want that facist Coburn in the Senate, I don't want that facist DeMint in the Senate, and the probable Alzheimer's patient Bunning, should'nt be there either, but they are. This country has turned the corner to facism.

I love what John Edwards said, and I leave with his words --- they're going to fight for every vote!

49. Remember Nixon.
He was "reelected," but not for long. Corruption, fraud and crime eventually come to light.

Oh, and while you are at it. Remember Hitler and Pinochet. I realize that Bush seems to be much more benign than those fellows, but that is because he is just getting started. What do "leaders" like Hitler, Pinochet, Franco, Stalin and . . . yes, Bush have in common? They rely on a power base that is angry and that thrives on bullying people who are different -- Jewish, or socialist, or capitalist or whatever. To stay in power, they have to keep their base happy. They have to give their base new objects to hate, deride, exclude and destroy just to keep their power. Their base is like a tiger that constantly has to be fed more and more raw meat.

Look at Bush's campaign. He constantly had to find new raw meat for his tigers: homosexuals, choice advocates, Muslims, the list goes on and on. And it's going to get worse.

The famous words of Martin Niemoller state my point best:

"First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me."

53. I remember Nixon. This was within my lifetime
Gerald Ford became president, a good-hearted man whose only fault appeared to be clumsiness. He pardoned Nixon, to heal the nation, and lost his own bid for the presidency because of this. He is currently helping President Carter in his important work, throughout the world. They have become friends. Contrast him with Cheney, greed personified. Yes, greed would be preferable to delusional, but still not a quality that we would value in the Leader of the Free World.:-(

55. Fight for Ohio
“The vote count in Ohio has not been completed. There are more than 250,000 remaining votes to be counted. We believe when they are, John Kerry will win Ohio.”
--Mary Beth Cahill, Kerry-Edwards Campaign Manager

Go to ohiodems.org and get signed up. The fight is focused now, so let's put all our energy and resources into Ohio.

62. The fight is not about Ohio!!
I hope you realise that the GOP wants the Democrats and John Kerry to focus on the fight in Ohio.

Sitting here in Finland, as an outsider, and having watched the entire process over the last three years, it is obvious to many of us what happened.

This election was brilliantly rigged. Democracy was stopped in its tracks.

I am sure many experts in many countries can explain toi you how many different techniques were used to ensure that finally it would come to just a discussion on one State, this time Ohio, just as four years ago it was Florida.

As I have written on this forum previously, I was probably the only foreigner to email Al Gore not to concede in 2000. He refused to listen.

Then again, not a single Democrat Senator stood up in Congress when the Black Caucus members, one by one, came to demand a signature for action in Florida in 2000!!

If the Democrat base is unable to fight its battles, thiose abroad cannot help you any further. The situation was summarised rather well on CNN by Wolfblitzer - the Democrats are just too disorganised a group to do anything constructively - and that was exploited to the fullest extent.

The people have got rid of Milosevic, Ceausescue, Gorbachov (sadly as he was sensible), and many other Bush like characters - but most Americans believe their deomcracy is so sacrosanct that other methods are not valid.

From what I gather, the only Senate seat fight I have heard being challenged is that of Martinez in Florida!! Is that an indication of how one rolls over and gives up this election to the GOP?

Bush as the "elected" leader makes the USA a pariah country!!

63. Thank you, Jacob
It does my heart good to read your words. I'm so glad that people across the world realize what is going on in our country--I wish that those citizens here who refuse to read the facts about the havoc that this administration has wreaked in every sector would WAKE UP and see the path they've been led down.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your encouraging words. I'm at a loss this morning to find words to express my frustration, but your post is making it easier for me.

59. Amen a thousand times over.
I'm already sick of seeing the 'oh woe is me' posts. It ain't over till it's over and this one ISN'T OVER FOLKS. Not by a long shot. This time ALL the votes WILL be counted. Kerry knows this country can't take another hit like 2000. He's not going to give up. I'm not going to give up. And I bet most of DU is not going to give up either.

But if you want to give up, just do it. We don't need the threads telling us America is dead. I'm still breathing, so that's just another election night fallacy. Like the one about * winning. Fallacy. Just wait and see.

61. Yep -- FRAUD. This graph of *'s approval rating reminds me..
he is stealing it again. Florida was stolen not earned.
No WAY did Bush get consistently more new voters in virtually every Florida county..no way did Gore voters vote for Bush. This is NOT the picture of an electable president:
