4. A novel called "The Waters Rising" bu Sheri S. Tepper..........
She's a new author for me. I just checked it out from the library today.

I've also got a couple of books on order from the main branch. One by Trotsky on the arts and the revolution and one with some writings by Marx. I haven't read any Marx or Trotsky since the early 70s. It seems an appropriate time to reaquaint myself with my revolutionary roots. :)

10. "Pigs In Heaven" by Barbara Kingsolver.
I don't know why I've passed by Kingsolver all this time -- this book is an absolute joy to read after slogging through some absolute disasters lately.

Looking forward to reading more of her works.

17. Just Finished Listening to Mrs. Pollifax on Safari
The second (not 2nd in chronology) of the series by Gilman I have had the chance to savour. This time, since it was audio, spouse got to enjoy it too. I have another in hand and chronological #2 on the way from the library.

In the meantime I finished Peter Mayle's French Lessons, an enjoyable food-based meander around various French galas (e.g., snail-eating event!). Quite entertaining. I also finished Daniel Levitin's This is Your Brain on Music earlier this week.

I am into the latter stages of listening to Stuart Woods' Run Before the Wind, an exciting suspense tale based around the construction of a racing sailboat in the face of ongoing Irish/Brit violence.

But my real focus at the moment is on Emma Larkin's Finding George Orwell in Burma, a great memoir written under a pseudonym due to the repression that was and is such a sad aspect of life in now-Myanmar.

I'm well above 50% on the fict/non-fict scale so far this year, largely thanks to Nancy Pearl, who put me onto some new mystery threads I had previously overlooked. My recent history has me relatively even on the f/n-f.

Thanks to the audio books and help from a co-worker with those, I may set a PB for the first two months of the year. I think prior was 15.
