WH Dinner - Seth Meyers
Edited on Sun May-01-11 12:25 AM by fadedrose
I'm gonna screw this up in paraphrasig - but here goes anyhow...

The President's health bill to cover all Americans was XXX pages...that doesn't seem right. Shouldn't it be longer than The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

Myers was great..

Catch the replay on CSpan if you can...

3. Because of the popularity of the "Girl" books in this forum..
Those of us, or some of us, or maybe just me, were delighted to hear Meyers mention the Dragon book.

4. I should have explained ....
I consider us fiction book readers as nerds whose topics never rise to the level of national politics, I mean, REAL national politics. That's why I was pleased and surprised to hear the remark by Meyers in his speech.

Anyway, there's a series of mystery books written by Stieg Larsson, a Swede, whose books were translated into English and became an international hit. Sadly, Laarson has since died.

They were very ably translated by Reg Keeland.

And the thing I mentioned about Meyers being repeated on CNN? It wasn't. The CNN host during the replay had guests talking about the President's speech and when they cut back to Meyers, the book thing had been scratched by the guest panel.

Now, do yourself a favor, check with your library and get Larsson's books, starting with the first one. You can find all of his published works at these sites:
