RIP: Maila Nurmi, better known as Vampira
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 09:58 PM by laststeamtrain
Maila Nurmi, better known as Vampira -- the world's first horror movie host -- has died of natural causes at the age of 86. The historic VAMPIRA SHOW ran on KABC-TV, Channel 7, in Los Angeles, Saturday nights at midnight, from 1954-55.

5. Saint Vampira
I never viewed the pic of Saint Vampira with the RIP coffin before, good pic, LastSteamTrain.

At The Church of Ed Wood
(Yes, it's a real legal chruch like, really.)
Vampira is a saint and here you may view a most cool animated gif starring the scream queen herself.

6. I met her once outside an Ed Wood film festival in Santa Monica back in the 80's.
What a unique persona she created, and had fun with.
