Gran Torino
For Clint Eastwood fans - and I am one of those.

I loved this movie. It was not what I imagined it might be, and I did not look at reviews or anything like that. We waited for awhile before going, and my hubby, son and I went last night.

Eastwood is an old retired ex-ford plant worker, who is also a veteran. I am not going to tell you the story - Eastwood is old, crotchety, and his neighborhood has been transformed......

This is a movie that I would highly recommend.

1. It's on my netflix list -
as soon as it comes out on DVD, I'll see it.

Truth is, I'll watch Eastwood in anything. His politics suck, but his artistry cannot be denied.

2. It was a fantstic story
and well told. I wasn't really interested in it until I heard the guy who wrote it interviewed on NPR. I like dhte general premise he outlined but he really sold me when he said he had completed another screen play it was written in the same bar, with the same pen as Gran Torino. Gotta love the guy.

4. I saw it on Friday
While entertaining, I didn't like the portrayal of asian americans simply accepting all the racial insults thrown at them throughout the movie. I didn't find it amusing at all.

6. it was great!!
...and yes, it was different for an Eastwood movie. And it also dealt with a lot of issues especially regarding many races living in one place.

I loved it when he was in the bathroom at the house next door, the Asian family, and he said he had more in common with these people than with his own family!!

It was a great film!!
