need help Cinemaphiles... who was the Black Actor who played a guy who wanted to be Top Pimp and was
the Protege of the old evil King Pimp. he played a character that sacrificed his humanity for prestige/wealth, it was actually a tragedy. he turns his girlfriend into a prostitute.

the guy in the movie is of French Creole descent.. a world class actor, one of the handsomest men in cinema, but he doesn't make a lot of films.

the reason is because there is this guy at work who sexually harasses lots of women, he is really slick and has everyone convinced he isn't harassing, he does exactly what this character does in the film to turn women into prostitutes. i'm at the end of my rope, it is constant and unending, i cant take it anymore. he is totally obsessed it never stops.., i think he is dangerous. i used to be a Parole officer, i've seen this before.

this business is fairly small, 100-120 employees, its in the south, they don't like california like restrictions in the work place. i trade movies with an influential person there, he religious but does mildly do sexist stuff. i think seeing this movie will convince him to see this harassment for what it is.

i told him the other day this guy really distracted me at my work because when he starts this thing he does with the married woman behind me, i feel obligated to listen and take notes because i know this is going to end up in court, one way or the other..

thanks for any help, i have a syndrome that includes not remembering names and faces..

3. Wasn't it a Van Peeples movie?
You watch his movies now, and you think "WOW - so THAT'S who Quentin Tarantino ripped off completely!"

7. Superfly was a Gordon Parks movie.

And Priest was a cocaine dealer as well. Ron O'Neal played him. Maybe this is the one, maybe not. But I did like Superfly.

ETA: And Superfly doesn't involve a storyline where Priest's girlfriend becomes a prostitute. So it must be another one.

9. no.. this is a dark drama,,, no jive Bullshit. about control and abuse of others for profit..
not a comedy or musical, no one is laugh'n sing'n or Dance'n,.. it is a movie about what men do to control women and how they do it, and the consequences..

10. who?
Are you ruling out Hustle And Flow? If so give us a few hints that don't require names etc. When did you see it? Was it still in theaters then? Give us a little more plot.
