Rational Responders on Nightline.
I think this story is old, but I just saw it so bite me, lol. Anyhow, have you seen the Nightline "expose" on the Rational responders and their blasphemy challenge? If you haven't, then the nightline video explains is fairly well (although they do so completely impartially ).

I thought the atheist in the story was completely rational and calm....and I found the "journalist" heavy handed and...well...assholish. Am I the only one?

I thought the whole segment was great... given the bilge that passes for serious journalism on Nightline since Ted Koppell left. To get any recognition at all that there is a substantial nontheistic element in the country from ABC/Disneyworld is, well, a miracle.

I agree that the lead spokesman was great. Calm, rational. Avoided the snarkiness that some atheists fall into when placed in similar circumstances. (Pretty hard to avoid, actually.)

I love the segment title: Faith Matters. Gee, I wonder if they have any preconceived notions about atheism.

2. I agree
Ryan was very reasonable, while the interviewer seemed to treat it as a joke.

3. I saw it exactly the opposite way.
To me, the interviewer was reasonable and restrained, and the two laughing, smirking, condescending mockers were the assholes. More so because they are not content to seal their own fate, but take enjoyment from trifling with the eternal souls of others, targeting teenagers especially with their recruitment efforts.

They were immature, to be sure, but much worse than immature, in my opinion.

4. Have you ever targetted teens with your Jesus recruitment efforts?
Or children?

Who are you to judge others?
