Man Didn't Register Job As Pastor At YMCA, Police Say

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- A convicted child rapist is accused of running a church at a local YWCA without telling state police -- violating Megan's Law.

Guy Jones, 42, was convicted of raping an 8-year-old girl in 1991, and he was recently accused of offending again in connection with indecently assaulting another 8-year-old girl in June 2007.

But prosecutors said Jones was arrested this time for hiding his past from police and a church congregation where he was a pastor.

"We believe it was very deliberate on his part that he didn't report his occupations because he didn't want people to know what he had done. He was hiding, and we won't stand for that," Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said.

<snip>

But what has prosecutors angry is that Jones never registered his job with police. They said he's been a pastor for the City of Refuge Baptist Church that's held services every Sunday inside the Pottstown YWCA.
