4. I've never heard "in heaven's name" being a profanity
It was never considered so in my mother's or grandparent's household. "Hell" was considered very profane, and four letter words such as those used often at DU were NEVER uttered. I never even heard the "f" word until I was 17 years old, and then I had to be told what it meant.

5. Judgments, sex, fecal matter, and God's name for vanity: Minimum, bad taste.
Absolute negatives such as hell and damnation, and references to bad sex and feces simply are not polite.

Using God's name (or euphemism) to obtain vain things such as sex, power, and money, violates a commandment of the old testament -- should that bother you more than the actual usurious act. However, since it does bother others, doing so is also impolite.

If you cannot be polite, then fuck your god damn shit to hell.
