4. A pope I respected, maybe,
Maybe not. Will I get paid anyway?

5. Depends what else is going on downtown.
You know if there is a good movie or exhibit at the art museum, maybe I would lie about wanting to see His Naziness.

8. Well, while I am not buddhist, I'd go see the Dalai Lama
(and no, I'm not inviting his detractors to start up).

I don't respect this "Pope," but there are many Jesuit Catholics in academia and elsewhere that I would appreciate hearing from...

SO, yes, I could imagine taking the day off to hear them. I did so, after all for both Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama....

9. Not until the Catholic Church stops their oppression of women
That'll never happen. At least not in my lifetime.

It's all about the "Big Boys Club!"

10. I would SAY I was going to see the pope, but in reality...
I would be fighting trolls in World of Warcraft.

13. How do you know the Pope isn't a WoW player?
Ask him if he's ever got ganked while grinding mobs, and see how he reacts.

14. I saw a pope once..
in Boston in the late 70's. A very strange event. It was like a parade with only one float, but very solemn..like a funeral procession. I was raised Catholic, but there seemed to be some protocol to follow that I was unaware of. Maybe it was my youth, or who I was at the time, that made me feel so out of my element. Beer would have helped, I'm sure.

15. The pope is local, now, and I have no interest.
I'm not Catholic, of course.

He held a huge mass at the Washington Nationals' new stadium today, and he is drawing big, enthusiastic crowds.

16. I missed school to see JPII in '79
Went to Mass at Shea. I imagine being in Mecca during the hajj is somewhat similar.

17. I'd use just about any excuse to get out of work. I wouldn't actually go see the pope though.
I'd go home and veg. But I'd rather go see the pope than work. My job sucks (but I'm quitting at the end of the month anyways, so it's all good).
