Does Justice exist?
This is from Dictionary.com
The upholding of what is just, especially fair treatment and due reward in accordance with honor, standards, or law.
and

3. The rendering to every one his due or right; just treatment; requital of desert; merited reward or punishment; that which is due to one's conduct or motives.

So does justice exist? If I open fire on a playground full of children and then get killed in the process, is this justice (it's a start, anyway)? It's not justice for the kids or their parents. And maybe I got what I deserved, but did I get everything I deserved? So what are your opinions about what justice is and whether it can always be met?

1. Only so occasionally that you wonder if it isn't just a fluke.

2. When I hear "bring so-and-so to Justice"
I always wince, for it usually means "I'm out for revenge".

3. I agree, Lefty
Revenge is usually what substitutes for Justice. And I'm certainly not above the need for it. There was a case recently, I've forgotten the names, where a young girl was kidnapped, raped, and buried alive with her pet dolphin. The guy's in jail and maybe someday the State will get around to killing him as politely as possible. But that's revenge, not real justice. So does he get Justice? What would justice be for the girl or her parents?

4. no
But we keep on trying. The pursuit of justice can be a noble undertaking or a horrible abuse of the populace. They say that justice is blind but so is love and stupidity.
