Poll question: Did you eat meat yesterday?
No only did I, I made it a point to do so. How many non-vegetarians who have rejected Catholicism don't?

2. I didn't.
But I haven't rejected Catholicism.

I haven't had meat on Fridays since Lent began.

3. Way more meat than usual.
But mostly a coincidence.

I went out for Ethiopian food. It was marvelous.

4. Uh, yeah, 'bout 75 grams or so. Forgot it was lent entirely, but then again, not my religion so it
would not have mattered anyway.

8. Never ate much meat...
and now, since the beginning of the year, don't eat meat at all. It's been easy. Don't miss it all.

6. Well, I'd guess a lot of non-vegetarians who've rejected Catholicism but are also unemployed
went meatless.

Or had McDonald's, which is the same thing.

7. I had a cajun turkey sammich'
With a Chipolte cheese slice and spicy mustard.
And a Dead Guy Ale in a frosted mug.
But, it never even occurred to me that I was doing anything out of the ordinary.

10. Huh?
Was raised Catholic - since 1954. Eaten meat since I gave it up - not due to lent, meat, etc., due to the stance on women. I was 15. Dad wasn't. Dad got pissed. Finally had to give in or beat me again.

18. I'm thinking "huh" as well, but about your post.
I don't think you're being as clear as you think you are.

"(I) Was raised Catholic - since 1954 (Huh? How can you be raised since a time?). (I haven't) Eaten meat since I gave it (Catholicism? Meat?) up - not due to lent, meat, etc., due to the (Catholic Church's?) stance on women. I was 15. Dad wasn't (yeah, I'm sure your dad wasn't 15 too, but that's what it sounds like you're saying. Wasn't Catholic?). Dad got pissed. Finally had to give in (Give in to being Catholic? To not being Catholic? Give in to eating meat? To not eating meat?) or (else my father would?) beat me again."

That's one of the most confusing, incoherent posts I've seen in some time.

11. By coincidence we had fish tonight
and I presume you do not count fish as meat. However it has nothing to do with religion. I never had any religion, Catholic or otherwise, to reject.

We eat some sort of meat or fish every night, although it is sometimes a component of a cassarole. We eat a lot of vegies too. Humans are omnivores and I can't believe it is healthy not to eat a varied diet that includes vegies, fruits, nuts, grains, eggs, meat, fish and dairy products.

My wife had one, too.
Dog had a regular hamburger.

He loves Burger King!

( I'm a retired catholic, but my wife is a jew. Don't know about the dog.)

16. I'm not following the Lenten fast this year.
Our Easter's next week, but I gave up on the fast this year. Going through this divorce is cross enough for me right now, and I'm finding that I really do need those comfort foods in addition to prayer. I'm hoping I'll be in a stronger, better place next year for Lent and am planning on doing the other fasts this summer.
