35. On a more serious note...
If the RW fundies were at all devout, perhaps they might come up with reasons for hurricanes, epidemics, etc. like "God is angry at us for torturing people" (or trashing the planet or starting wars or... you get the idea). Rather than rounding up the usual suspects, who somehow never overlap with their own "in-group."

In the kinds of Old Testament tales of divine anger they thrive on, isn't it often God's Chosen People getting the smackdown from God for their own transgressions? Whereas in their present-day mythologies, it's never them, it's always those people who don't go to their kind of church that God is angry with.

40. It seems like eensy weensy viral doo-dads mutate of their own volition
without being beholden to any ethical Deity.

But on the other hand I certainly don't speak for viral doo-dads or universe-creators either, so what the hell do I know about it?

There were fundie nutbags out there claiming that Katrina was God's wrath against sinful New Orleans. But when a twister smashes a Methodist church in Kansas or South Dakota, no asparagus is cast against those congregations.

Author Ed Abbey said that "People who talk about 'God' make me nervous."

I'm kinda with Ed on this one. If there's to be God-talk, I'd trust a lot of people in this forum before I'd trust the fundie nutbags out there in Republicanland.
