A Shinto ceremony -Shrine Maiden dance
Here is a glimpse for you all into what a Shinto ceremony sometimes looks like.

In this clip, you will see a Shrine Maiden (Miko-san) dancing.

The Shinto Priest (guuji) is sitting on the side.

I take part in a Shinto Ceremony once or twice a month called "Tsuki-Nami-Sai" (月次祭) which occurs on the 1st and 15th of each month and is a preparation for the next month, asking for protection and the like.

Enjoy.

2. Interesting, I've never seen a miko do anything
but stand around the shrine in costume. But then, I'm not as closely associated with a Japanese community as you are.

3. Thank you!

I first came across the Miko in a fiction of the same name by Eric Von Lusbader, but didn't really follow up on the topic till now.
The Shamanistic traditions around the world have some very interesting similarities!.

Thank you for the video.

4. Not quite as entertaining...
...as when they parade through the streets with giant phalli.
