Judge blocks city's land deal with Catholic school
In a follow-up to this thread:
A federal judge on Wednesday blocked the city of South Bend from transferring property it bought for $1.2 million to a Roman Catholic high school for use as a football field, saying the deal would violate the First Amendment.

Gavin Rose, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana who argued the case, praised the decision.

"We are delighted that the federal court has recognized that the Constitution prevents government from giving direct subsidies to religious institutions, as South Bend was attempting to do," he said in a news release.

2. Excellent. Another win for the 1st Amendment, and a defeat to the theocrats.
