Who's your team in the tournament...
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 07:48 PM by Emboldened Chimp
...and how well will they do?

Be honest.

UCONN's mine. I think they'll make it to the Final 8 where they'll get knocked off by UNC.

1. Dukie till death
Honestly, they are weak this year; lots of injuries, no bench, inconsistent play.

I think they'll go a couple of rounds, due to coaching of K.

Doubt they will make Final 4.

Pitt vs Washington in the 2nd round could be a great match.

And, due to my new home, Kentucky. Carolina over Kentucky in a head to head, though.

5. The Huskies
UConn not Washington. ;-)

Like you, I don't see them getting past the Heels. They're in a tough bracket along with Kansas, Florida and 'Nova. Ugh...

28. Yep. Wildcats!
But I think they are over-rated this year. I will be surprised if they get by Cincinnati tomorrow.

8. Orphaned; I'm sticking w/ the BE brethren and a few more
I'll pull for the BE squads, especially the WVU "Hoosiers". Unfortunately, I don't think they can keep up their shooting much longer, and may even fall to Creighton, a longtime giant killer. UConn should make it to the Elite 8, Cuse could go to the final 4, BC to the Sweet 16, and Nova to the 2nd round. Pitt is my wildcard. I really think they have the type of game that could give UW fits, and I could see them going to the Final 4 if they can win that game.

From the East, I like UF, UK, Wake, and GT. I've got UF to the Sweet 16, where they may have the horses to run w/ UNC. Wake should be Elite 8 at worst. I've got UK falling to OSU in the Sweet 16, and GaTech to the Elite 8.

From the Midwest/South, I like TTU and OSU. I've got TTU taking out Gonzaga, and they're my other (Pitt) big sleeper. OSU is at least to the Elite 8.

From the West, I like Gonzaga, UW, and UCLA. I have both Gonzaga and UW getting upset (TTU and Pitt, respectively), and UCLA going one and done to TTU.

I'm also pulling for the A&M/Oakland winner to go as far as possible.

9. My favorite college team or who I want to win?
Cincinnati's my favorite team but I expect them to get stuffed first round by Iowa.

The team that owned Cincy this year, Louisville, is my pick to win it all this year. They were vastly underrated in the seeding (just as I thought Wake Forest was vastly overrated).

My #12 that will beat a #5 is UW-Milwaukee over Alabama.

My final four is: Louisville over Arizona, Duke over UCONN
My final is: Louisville over Duke 78-71

ha i don't think i've ever had school spirit before, but i guess i don't have too much as i have em picked to go out in the 2nd round

they play tough and they play strong, and that's all you need to win.

I want a NC State/ Uconn rematch from a few years ago.

They keep putting them in the same pod - that's kinda weird.

16. Alabama A&M!!
If, er, that is, they win the play-in game tonight and actually get that coveted #64 berth!

No, I'm not crazy, just have a lot of good friends who are A&M alums, so, why not? Everybody loves the underdog, right?

19. Oh dear
With a little more than six minutes to go in the play-in game, Alabama A&M is down by about 21 points. Guess I need to do a quick study about Oakland, which I know virtually nothing about, so I can cheer for the underdog. My favorite underdog does not appear to be barking tonight! =(

20. The Zags and Oklahoma State
I can see both going far. I think OSU's experience will serve them well in this tourney -- Joey Graham and John Lucas are a sweet combo. Gonzaga seems to be gelling at the right time, too. I'd say at least the Sweet 16 for the Zags and, hopefully, Final Four for OSU if they can knock off the Illini.

31. Mine's Utah
I'm an Aussie and I want to see Andrew Bogut play in the final. Don't think an Aussie's done it since Andrew Gaze with Seton Hall (late '80s???)

As for where I honestly think they'll finish, I've got no idea. It's a bit hard to get a handle on college ball from this distance.

It is good we're getting some coverage through ESPN in Australia but not enough to get a real overview.

Any reviews on Bogut would be much appreciated by this geographically disadvantaged basketball fan.
