Dodgers lose again...Giants creep closer

The Dodgers lost to the Braves 2-1 in 10 innings last night, further shrinking what has been a steadily eroding lead...The Giants, who were 9 games back as recently as July 25, are now within 5 1/2 after the Dodgers suffered their 9th loss in 14. The last time the Giants were this close was May 14th.

The Dodgers no longer have the best record in baseball and most importantly no longer have a lock on the division.

1. I don't know how long Velez can continue his streak...

but he has been carrying the Giants, more or less. That won't last. Schierholtz, who was swinging a hot bat, is coming back from the DL and will move Wynn to the bench. Time for the entire batting order to start contributing.

Once he breaks out of it, I expect the Dodgers will be right back where they were...9 games up.
