What I HATE about the NCAA "Big Dance" tournament
Edited on Sun Apr-03-05 07:49 AM by underpants
No it's not the piped in sneaker squeaks by CBS-they admitted to adding bird sounds at the Masters but so far no comment on what I know are added in squeaks-this ruined the tournament for my wife a few years ago, it is rather distracting once it is pointed out.

It is the three rows of press tables IN THE FRONT ROWS. :grr:

First-I have never understood why it requires so many reporters to tell me about what I just watched and has a final SCORE- no ambiguity there everyone knows who won/lost when the clock shows 00:00.

Maybe the NCAA is trying to avoid adrenalin fueled fights or fans spilling on to the floor or security concerns but it bugs the hell out of me. These supposed student athletes are so far from the fans that it is like they are playing in a museum. Sure you and I and the players can still hear them but the big selling point of college basketball is the madness in the stands.

The press can see the game just as well from up top or in the bar.

MOVE THEM BACK!!

1. I Agree
The NCAA is a corrupt organization though. That's for damn sure! They will find anyway to bring down 'Bama... sorry bastards they are.

Ask them... they will know.

2. But it's better to watch the game from press row
Trust me.

I do agree though that the fans, mainly the student's of the schools should sit closest to the court.

3. that's the way it should be
the only problem is that most students can't afford the tickets :(

i wanted to go to the uwm/illinois sweet 16 game down in chicago, but only if i had an extra $120 laying around...what kind of college student has $120 laying around?

4. Great post
But one correction - they didn't pipe in bird noises at the Masters, they just brought in extra birds to the tournament!

Seriously, it was a different tournament.
