Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford of No. 8 Oklahoma will not be the starting quarterback against No. 17 University of Miami on Saturday at Land Shark Stadium.
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said Thursday that Landry Jones will start against the Hurricanes. The game is at 8 p.m. on ABC and is expected to draw at least 60,000 fans.
Jones is a redshirt freshman who took over for Bradford after he sustained a shoulder-joint sprain in OU's opening-week loss against BYU.
``Sam has made daily progress, but we don't feel like he's quite where he needs to be yet,'' Stoops said in a statement. ``Our team has a lot of confidence in Landry's ability and we're looking forward to going into the game with him at quarterback. Our approach will be the same that it has been in the last two games.''
