Ok, Big Ten fans and other also...
Which would you prefer..

a) having Michigan in the same division as OSU, meaning that the Game would probably be played in late Nov as always

b) having Mich in an opposite division with a protected cross-divisional rivalry, meaning we'd possibly play Michigan twice in one year, but also meaning the Game would probably be sometime earlier in the year?

..snip

The game this year is being played the weekend after Thanksgiving. There is something seriously wrong with that. Thanks Condem.

4. Hey. Michigan picked a bad time to suck.
I believe Michigan-OSU will be spared no matter what. What the fuck is wrong with the Saturday after Thanksgiving? Everybody else is playing. And put it at night. The thing is, this rivalry is so past. Nebraska-Iowa, baby!! Farmageddon!! Bring it on!!

10. Guess I'm one of the "some", huh?
Why do I get the impression that I'm supposedly one of those people who is somehow seemingly opposed to the OSU/Michigan game? I guess I failed to express the appropriate amount of reverence. And I do love the way the word tradition gets thrown around like the word "god" and "America", like how could any right-minded person oppose it?

So, here's the thing. I'm all in for OSU/Michigan. May they plan on into infinity. God bless 'em. God bless America. And that game belongs at the end of the season, so November it must be. Just don't come cryin' to me when one of them knocks the other out of the Conference Championship game because they were both undefeated heading into the traditional match-up.

11. You have to have tOSU and scUM in the same division, I would not want to have
Edited on Fri Aug-20-10 07:10 AM by Capt. America
a scenario where they played The Game the last week knowing that they would face off again the following week for the Big 10 Championship. The Game would take on less meaning and they may sit guys knowing they will be playing for "the Bigger Game" the next week.

For Auggie: I don't recognize the woman in your icon, who is that?

For Condem:

Kinnick Division:
Iowa
Nebraska
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Northwestern

Owens Division:
tOSU
PSU
UM
Sparty
Purdue
IU

12. I don't think you'll have UM, OSU and PSU in the same division, Capt.
Delaney has virtually stated it won't be solely based on geography.

14. How about no divisions?
Yeah, I know, not an option.

Having the game Thanksgiving weekend SUCKS. We traditionally go out of town that weekend, to a place with no TV. I love watching the game; it's a big deal to me.

Plus, the students aren't there.

15. Are you kidding me, LisaM?
Part of this whole deal was to keep us playing later. I LOVE Thanksgiving weekend football. And why shouldn't the Big Ten be part of it?? Fucking tradition can ONLY go so far. Bring it on!!

16. Iowa must really have no traditions!
That is a precious family weekend to me. I don't mind the TDay weekend games - I listen to them on the radio - but Michigan/Ohio State should not be that weekend.

Of course, if the Powers That Be have their way, pretty soon there will be no conferences and it will be like the English Premier League, you just play your way in and out and everything we once cherised and that was right about college football will be gone.
