Marlins catcher Ronny Paulino suspended 50 games
I'm very sad to see this. I like Paulino. What a dumb move on his part.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/marlins/marlins-catcher-ronny-paulino-suspended-50-games-870461.html

The Marlins will take the field tonight - and every game the rest of the season - without catcher Ronny Paulino, who began serving a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance under Major League Baseball's drug policy.

"I am horrifically embarrassed," Marlins President David Samson said of the organization's first failed drug test on the major-league level.

Samson said owner Jeffrey Loria immediately ordered a review of the club's drug-education policies for players to try to prevent it from occurring again. Samson said that review will encompass "everything we do, from the Dominican League up to the major leagues."

General Manager Larry Beinfest added, "One is more than we would ever want."

Paulino, who was seeing the bulk of playing time for the Marlins since John Baker was injured in May, will miss the final 42 games of this season and the first eight games of the 2011 season. Paulino will forfeit approximately $272,000 during his suspension.

"To control my weight this season, I used a dietary pill," Paulino said in a statement released by the team. "I recently learned that the dietary pill contained a substance banned under Major League Baseball's drug policy. I am ashamed and saddened for disappointing and distracting my family, my teammates, the entire Florida Marlins organization and baseball fans."

1. At least he manned up---admitted his mistake
and sincerely sounds like he's sorry.

It would be nice if others would do the same.

2. And of course, when Big Papi said the same thing and said he was
sorry, well, you didn't believe him. Ridiculous.

4. Paulino "sincerely sounds like he's sorry"

Yeah he "manned up---admitted his mistake" alright...only after he got busted. Where's the usual rant that you reserve for PED users? You know, calling them "cheaters" and what not....doesn't that apply to those that play for the Marlins?

5. I love when you chime in on these threads
the biggest Barry Bonds defender on DU ..

My post did exactly what I thought it would do... draw you out of Cboy's basement.

Yep---Dude got caught---Dude admitted it, Dude said he'll take the punishment.---oh--and he should be punished.

Unlike Bonds who continues to lie his ass off all the way to the Grand Jury and the future trial.

Oh and his douche defenders--- they'll never admit that BB did steroids.

Proof: Here it is... Hey Upton--- Did BB do Steroids during his record home run seasons?

Yes or no?

Now everyone watch how Upton will do everything he can from issuing a yes or no.

6. You forfeited your being taken seriously on the topic years ago.
Tru isn't being inconsistent at all. But you are. If you were being consistent you'd be defending this guy with the intensity you save for Barry Bighead.

Where's YOUR consistency?
