AP: Time for Favre to finally say goodbye for good

On Edit: Fixed the crappy Yahoo link.

.....(snip).....

With all of that going on, the discovery of a stress fracture in his ankle Monday couldn’t have come at a better time. Because now Brett Favre can finally retire.

Yes, retire. Only this time, don’t waste our time waffling about it.

Get on a plane and get out of town before your 291-game consecutive streak— 315 if you count the playoffs—can be snapped. Go back to your wife on the farm before the NFL’s investigation into your frat boy antics goes any further.

Get out now because it can only get worse. ............(more)

1. As a Vikings fan that likes Brett, I agree.
And I liked him when he was a Packer, too (except when they played the Vikes).

He needs to just call it a career. T-Jack couldn't be much worse than Favre has been. The Vikes need to start worrying about next year and Brett CERTAINLY doesn't factor into that discussion.

2. And he should take Childress with him.
Mr. Peanut SUCKS. I was at the game on Sunday and from 48 rows up I saw that the second touchdown was not a TD. I saw the ball come out. How could he or his coaching staff not? How could he not have thrown the flag on that TD? It wasn't even just bobbled, but it was close enough to the out of bounds line that that alone should at least have him considering the red flag.

Man I hate Childress. Hated when they hired him. Hate him now. They should have made Frazier the coach then and they should make him head coach now before we lose him.

3. I wish they had kept Mike Tomlin actually
I think he was DC under Childress for one year before going to Pittsburgh. Too bad they just didn't dump Chilly then.

Personally, I'd like to see Favre leave.

4. I was unhappy the day they hired him.
Of course I live in Wisconsin so I know what a "wonderful job" he did with the Badgers.
