Not near as many NCAA basketball posts as last week
What happened to that dude who kept us posted on UK's relentless quest?

Did he get chomped by a Gator?

I apologize in advance if the poster in question did indeed have an unfortunate encounter with an alligator.

1.  I really am too old to be a dude, dude.
Yes, UK lost to Florida & yes that's two in a row too, to be sure. BUT!! A student of life such as yourself spud should know that a QUEST sometimes takes a while. Pointing out not being able to find the grail or the questing beast after generations.
If you had not started your drunken Super Bowl drink-a-thon yesterday at sunrise you would know where I am as I answered your lounge post yesterday. So in reality this post is flame bait. Bring it on biacho.

I would predict though, that if, you, were a SEC fan, Florida would be your kind of school.
And we still have this

Event Location Time
Florida Lexington, Ky. 4:00 PM

Plant you now, dig you later.

2. You're comparing UK's quest for a national title to a quest for a Holy Grail?
Go away or I shall taunt you a second time . . .

6. As a food service professional I would sincerely offer
this opinion; Fuck them both.

You should consider better eating habits , a good start would be , stay away from Fast Food joints.
Frequent your local independent restaurants instead of corporate stores.

Four Mac Mac all worlds... Great.

7. What if my local independent restaurants serve food quickly?
Can I go eat there?

ps: If I lived in Rocky Mount then Hardee's would be local, at least when it first started.

8. You said restaurants I said joint, therein lies the difference.
Have you ever seen the 'roast' that Hardees cuts its 'beef ' from? I have cooked so much beef cows have an alter set up for me but that stuff is not recognisable as a food product.
Have you noticed that you can't spell restaurant without rant.

Speaking of basketball and food ,we are still on NCAA probation, not the Wildcats, the restaurant I manage. The owner liked feeding the guys for free. We come off probation in August.
You may think this is funny, its not a 100% accurate though.

11. Tater, new info, Three Kentucky signees among five
finalists for Naismith Award .
University of Kentucky men's basketball signees Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague were among five finalists named Thursday for the 2011 High School Naismith Award.
North Carolina signee James McAdoo and Duke signee Austin Rivers were the other two finalists.

Relentless infroming from the basketball capital of the world.

PS (post script) I am going to get my 50's or early 60's fat tire Schwinn out of storage today. Got it free twenty years ago. Going to tune it up for Spring. I may have forgotten how to ride.

might have been. We'll see if he gets on in the NBA. That center position will be the weakness.

after UK upset. No fun.

The basketball crazies have already burned some couches after the OSU,The and the North Cackilacky games.
I am putting a junk car on the street where the bars are. North Carolina or Indiana plates on it with a few UK sucks type bumper stickers . It will be heavily insured.
That is pretty much the extent of my retirement plan.

A few miles north of Berea is a major biological and chemical weapons dump that leak regularly. That shit fucked up that bunch of dulcimer making hippies.

Final Four tarnished by new probes into UK, UConn

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=dw-wetzel_final_four_marred_by_new_probes_into_uk_uconn_040111

Meanwhile, FoxSports.com is reporting a former Kentucky and Memphis basketball staffer, Bilal Bately, made illegal phone calls to recruits, including former Wildcat DeMarcus Cousins. In his job, Bately was not permitted to call recruits. He left the program in 2009.

Of course if you really know 'something' PM me and I can hook you up with the NCAA compliance officer, whom I know.

Report: Former Calipari assistant committed secondary violation at Kentucky
Herald-Leader Staff Report

A former John Calipari assistant broke NCAA rules by making impermissible telephone calls to recruits while at both Memphis and Kentucky, according to a report Friday by FoxSports.com.
Bilal Batley resigned as Kentucky's assistant director of basketball operations/manager after he violated NCAA rules by rebounding for a player during a workout in July 2009. Kentucky self-reported the secondary violation and sent Batley a letter of admonishment.
But the FoxSports.com report says Batley also broke NCAA rules by making phone calls to former UK player DeMarcus Cousins and other recruits.
FoxSports.com cited NCAA rules stating that all telephone calls made to or received from a recruit, his parents, legal guardians or coaches must be made and received by a team's head coach or three countable assistant coaches. Batley was not a countable assistant, according to the report.
NCAA spokesman Erik Christianson said the NCAA does not comment on secondary violations.
When contacted by FOXSports.com, Batley, who said he coached this past season at Navarro College, a junior college in Corsicana, Texas, declined to answer any questions.

Self-reported, secondary violation, and letter of admonishment; Much ado about NOTHING.

(edited to add) GO BIG BLUE

22. I really don't have anything against UK
I know I have posted some negatives things but I am really just razzing UK fans - fun trash talk not meant with any anger

UK basketball is so huge with so many fans trying to get direct contact with a small number of players that things are going to happen. As far as Calipari goes he is not doing anything that everyone else does, not that that makes it okay. In recruiting cash is king- $10K goes to the local preacher or someone in the community and it ends up in the reciever's pocket and some goes to the family. Unless someone sees the cash change hands and knows what it is for then it didn't really happen.

I should paint all of UK as racists but when Rupp ran the show either he was unwilling to have black players or the boosters/fan base were. Hey the ACC didn't integrate until Dean Smith recruited Charlie Scott in 1964. The Redskins were the last NFL team to have a black player on the roster until 1962 with Bobby Mitchell.

Anyway I just wanted to let you know I didn't mean anything mean by it. We were both on the wrong end of the score last night. Didn't see the game but it looked to be really low scoring - was it pace or was it that hard to shoot on an elevated floor in that cavernous arena? (Butler didn't have a problem with it apparently)

23. Billy Jones from Maryland integrated the ACC in 1966, two years before Charlie Scott
Saint Dean did great things, but he wasn't the first ACC coach to have an African-American player.

25. No offense taken, Got to stick up for my team
Rupp tried to recruit black players before he got his first guy. That didn't work out to well.We had some cracker schools that would have not been a good place to take black players AND. Moving from VERY SEGREGATED Augusta Georgia to small town Kentucky in 1967 was a revelation for me. Kentucky had integrated its public schools with not much trouble compared to the Confederate South.
That fictional movie on Texas Western, 'taught' many a sports fan the wrong information but then it is a much better story with Adolph a bad guy. That old man gave me a ride hitchhiking in 1971 and he was one of the funniest and smartest men I have ever talked with. I hate to see such an important sports figure as he was lied about in the press and now even the God damned public ken.
We (I) are touchy about this misconception but that is Kentucky's karma. Reminiscent of the fact that Kentucky never left the Union but still went through Reconstruction.
Wait until next year sports fans we will field a Juggernaut.

Re the game, No we just sucked shooting and UCONN is a great & well coached team.
