On Brandon Underwood's "sexual assault charge"...

snip-
WTMJ 620 in Milwaukee reports that Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood won’t face sexual assault changes, although he could wind up facing charges of solicitation of prostitution (fancy term for, “he tried to pick up a hooker”). Here are the details to this doozy: Underwood met the two women at Chubby’s, a gentleman’s club outside of the Lake Delton area. Underwood solicited one or both of the women to return to his room. While an encounter between Underwood and one of the women was taking place, the other woman in question attempted to rob the Packers player. Once she was discovered, the two women were thrown out of the condo. That’s when the two women called police and reported the assault. The two women in question were seen laughing and “carrying on” after wards by witnesses. According to the article, the other six Packer players who were named by the Lake Delton Police Department were not involved in the situation outside of being nearby at the time of the incident..

So, is he a creep? Yes, at least in my opinion. A rapist? Far from it.

If y'all wanna pick a Packer to throw up there against Ben, I would suggest James Lofton over Brandon Underwood.
Thank you. The misinformation on this one is driving me nuts.

1. Heh. I've heard of Chubby's
But anyway, I'd go with Mark Chmura, a first-class sleezebucket if there ever was one.

2. Agreed. But the main difference there is that the Packers got rid of

him promptly, or at least encouraged him to resign. Fans shunned him. It's what I like so much about my team and its fans no off field BS allowed. It's why I'm glad they never brought Randy Moss and his drama to Green Bay.

**It was driving me nuts that a couple of posters insist on posting the original new story, and not the followup.

3. This article, from 2 weeks ago, say sthe DA is still considering charges...
so, your spirited defense of him may be a bit premature.

And, truly, I couldn't give 2 shits about either Underwood or Ben R. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the "Pittsburgh deserves to lose because Ben is a rapist" crowd. Their standard could just as easily have been applied to Underwood.

4. My "spirited defense" of him is justified and timely.
Your disingenuous posting of an alleged assault that ended up being a robbery gone bad by two prostitutes is what is at issue here. As mentioned above, and in the comments, you could have picked Chmura (whom I abhor) or even Lofton, with his 2 assault charges. Except the Packers did what the Steelers refuse to, get rid of a trouble maker.

Their standard does not apply. But...okay.

5. OK---let's run with Chmura...
Did you know he is in the packers Hall of Fame and does a Packer radio show in Milwaukee.

Nope---you guy's are fucking hypocrites.

7. Did you know how many people are pissed off about that, myself included?
Tons. Hypocrite? I think not. I'm just glad he got the boot.

11. Dude---boot from what?
He had a career ending injury...they didn't boot him, they put him in the Hall of Fame even after he fucked around with teenage girls.

10. They got rid of Chmura because he had a career-ending injury in the 2nd game of the season before
Not because they were getting rid of a troublemaker. Chmura got hurt in the 2nd game of the '99 season and never played again.

12. He as much admits his decision was forced by the fans
Chmura's reputation was so ruined among Packers fans that he retired a few months after being acquitted.

That said, it makes me sick that he's in the Packer HOF.

On a side note: It's good to see you again.

13. interesting ...
I'm still not sure I'm completely convinced that the injury didn't play a significant role (he did try to come back and play with other teams, I believe) but the article gave me another perspective.

"On a side note: It's good to see you again."

:hi:

Good to see you, ScreamingMeemie, and I'm happy today that your Packers won. (Besides, the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl it was followed by a pair of Denver Broncos Super Bowl wins, so I'm assuming next year is the year of the Bronco :) (That's logical, right?)

6. How many weeks can people obsess over the same nonsense?
Edited on Mon Feb-07-11 01:07 PM by HuckleB
None of these guys are people I would want living next door, but they're just entertainers. These are items we can leave to the legal system. If one is going to rant and rave about such things, then perhaps one could stop watching, or one could simply acknowledge that it's just entertainment and let it be. The soap opera dramas are pointless.
