LeBron just "apologized" for The Decision
Edited on Wed May-11-11 10:27 PM by lazarus
in the post-game press conference I watched on NBATV. Said he was sorry to the fans back home about how it all went down, but he had to make the move for his career.

Update, here's the quote: :"The way it panned out with all the friends & family & fans back home, I apologize for the way it happened. This was the opportunity of a lifetime."

He and DWade were acting like they already won the title. Way overreacting, IMO. Very emotional.

2. He's not jealous and neither am I
Edited on Thu May-12-11 07:03 AM by TZ
We are CONTEMPTUOUS, which is totally different.. LeBron seems to feel that anyone who doesn't absolutely love him is stupid, which is a childish attitude. But then LeBron has proven his lack of both intelligence and maturity over and over again in the last year. But what would I expect from a member of the jealous douchebag brigade of Barry Bonds- because if we are "jealous" than so are you.
Your hypocrisy and refusal to understand why people have VERY GOOD reasons for hating him makes you no better than Upton and his blind ass kissing. At least I'll admit when there is a dirtbag athelete on one of my teams (like Haynesworth- they Skins could win the SB and I'd still hate Haynesworth with a passion--its called having morals you might want to try it some time. I'm consistent with sports and politics, the ends NEVER EVER justify the means)

3. Why again do you hate him??
What exactly did he do that was so wrong?? His contract was up in Cleveland. He was approached by another team - Miami. He wanted to win. He said yes. What is so wrong about that?? Why didn't everyone get upset when Kevin Garnett left Minnesota to play with another "Big 3"?

There are times in our lives when we want something better. We want to live somewhere better. We want to work somewhere better. LeBron took that opportunity. Why are we begrudging him for a "decision" that was his alone to make?? He is friends with Dwyane and Chris - they wanted to play together. So they did.

And just remember - Cleveland won him in a lottery. He wasn't a possession of theirs. He was a player and an employee.

And as for Barry Bonds. We dislike him because he cheated the game of baseball. Just like I dislike Manny and McGwire and Sosa. They cheated a great game of baseball. LeBron my dear did not cheat the game of Basketball.

4. What don't you get? He planned on going to Miami 3 years ago, he was NOT approached
by them...he planned this, and then tried to blame it on Cleveland for not trying to keep him...he's an arrogant POS...learn some history!!!

5. You learn some history
He was approached by Pat Riley - you know the Miami Heat President.

Riley not only convinced James and Bosh to join Miami and Wade to stay with the Heat — but also got them all to leave more than $50 million over the lifetime of their new contracts on the bargaining table.

So he goes to a better team. Is paid less. And he's arrogant?? I just don't get it.

14. He was approached by six different teams...
not just Miami, including Cleveland. He listened to each team, and decided to go to Miami. So he changed teams, whoop-de-doo. LeBron has done NOTHING to deserve the scorn that he gets.

15. How? He was a unrestricted free agent.
The Heat made their team a powerhouse by free agency. The Celtics did it by trades. You can't compare KG and LeBron and their choices of teams...apples and oranges. KG had some say in that he was asked to allow the trade, but that's it.

16. Sign & trade
Is the answer if you're asking how he was traded. In the NBA rules are designed that a player can sign for more years and more money with the team they currently play for. Sign & trade deals allow for a player to sign for more cash & more years with their new team if both the player and team agree to do a sign & trade deal.

Early on in the FA period Toronto tried to do a sign & trade with Cleveland but Bosh refused.

20. You are splitting hairs here. LaBron was an unrestricted free agent.
How the deal was finalized doesn't change the fact that he was a free agent to go where ever he pleased. Cleveland only did what they needed to do for losing LaBron. KG was a flat out trade for players. Apples and ornages. You can't say LaBron was traded. He wasn't.

22. I never disputed he wasn't a free agent
and I know Rocka & you are talking about two different things. I was just explaining how he has traded but it wasn't just a trade, that is why I said "sign & trade".

Did LeBron fuck up the way he left Cleveland---fuck yeah!

Is that blind ass kissing?

It's done---it's over...

He's on my fucking team now and he's kicking ass.

They only residual shit left is from the jealous douchebags who won't let it go.

7. I'm just reporting
I have yet to say anything about LeBron at all regarding the Decision (which, bad idea) or his supposed douchebaggery.

For the record, I think he's a fine player, if a bit overrated. The Heat seem to have solved their late game close out problem, although that was against a seriously depleted Celtics team. I think the Mavs can beat them.

11. Seriously depleted>>>>
too fucking funny... They've got one of the deepest benches in the league---far more deeper than Miami.

Wait until Miami adds a big man and another point guard...along with some bench depth.

Game over.

17. yes, seriously depleted
the O'Neals were both injured, they have shit as back up at the point, KG is 138 years old. Trading Perkins was a huge mistake, but even with Perkins, they were getting old and didn't have a chance against younger, more talented teams.

Celts fans and the media who want Celts v Lakers every year. that's it. Anybody who knows basketball knows the Celts are an old team with nothing left in the tank.

I think you're dreaming. They won't have any cap space when the new CBA is negotiated.
