Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary, a key witness in the child sex abuse scandal that has engulfed the school, has been placed on administrative leave.

School president Rodney Erickson announced the move Friday, a day after the school said McQueary would not be present when the Nittany Lions play Nebraska on Saturday because he had received threats.

"It became clear that coach McQueary could not function in this role under these circumstances," Erickson said. He said he reached the decision to place McQueary on indefinite leave with acting athletic director Mark Sherburne, and that McQueary was informed of the decision on Friday...

A source told ESPN that Paterno recalls McQueary "vaguely" referencing "fondling" or "touching" or "horsing around" by Sandusky and a youth. But Paterno never had the understanding that McQueary had witnessed a "sodomy" or "rape."

A step in right that direction...

1. A topic for discussion.
Did Penn State or The State of Pennsylvania delay the Grand Jury findings until JoePa got the record for wins?

2. That would be the biggest disgrace ever
This whole story infuriates me. But if it's like others have said - there were hundreds or maybe thousands of people who were aware of his behavior and they did nothing about it. McQueary is one of many adults who should have stood up for those kids. Not a one of them did.
