Watching The Olympics Live
is so much more fun than watching it taped. WTF is wrong with NBC? How come CBC can put together an Olympics program that really covers the events, and NBC can't. I just don't get it. Right now I'm watching the Nordic combined 15k. It's an amazing event. Will folks who are limited to watching NBC even be able to watch it at all? .

1. I'm watching it live on CBC too
- am currently on Vancouver Island. The coverage is fabulous - all the events, all the competitors (not just the favorites). CBC does this for every Olympics and puts the US coverage to shame every time.

I stopped watching the US network coverage of the Olypics when they started doing those 'up close and personals' - 10 minutes of sob stories interspersed with 5 minutes of canned event coverage - abolsolute schlock!

3. Count me as green with envy!
I so miss the CBC and wish DirectTV would include it as it includes the BBC. You are correct in stating that it "puts the US coverage to shame every time".

:grr: I miss the CBC

5. We'll be seeing the Pairs Skating Live!
having just seen the Women's Half Pipe and the Men's Speed Skating. Have been some bad accidents today - women's skiing and luge - several carted off to hospital - none seem to be critical but several broken bones and concussions.

Aargh, I have to leave tomorrow to drive back to California and will have to revert to canned highlights and inane blathering. Thank you CBC for showing us how it should be done - don't ever change!

4. Yay: Vermont keeps up the tradition of winning gold
in the women's half pipe. Hannah Teter of Belmont wins! Kelly Clark of Mt. Snow would have won again, I believe, if she hadn't crashed out at the end of her 2nd run.
