1. Ohio State overrated again
No doubt there will be a Big Ten team in the championship game next year for (once again) no apparent reason.

2. But... but... it's a conspiracy! We all know how biased to the South the media poll is!
Everyone knows that New Orleans, Birmingham, and Jacksonville are huge media centers where all the sportswriters are based. Only a few voters are based in New York, Boston, L.A., all of the Midwest and Great Plains, the Pacific Northwest, etc.

UNFAIR!!!

3. Excellent Point Brother
And as I know FOR A FACT that the Gulfport, Mississippi Sun-Herald is a powerhouse when it comes to swaying sports polling votes.

5. Can there seriously still be any debate; for this year at least?
7-2 in bowls. The only other conference with even the same number (5) in the Top 25 (though not as highly ranked) was the Big 12; and the Big 12 had no more teams in the "receiving votes", runners-up category (SEC had 3 more). Plus Nos. 1 & 2 were SEC teams. And regardless of what you think of the BCS, these 2 teams are on just about ANYBODY's short-list of 4 or 5 for the "best" team.

7. The Ivy League
Harvard was awesome this year.

The SEC there can be no doubt once again the strongest conference in all the land. Just consider the two SEC teams which lost bowl games, Florida, last years Champs with the Heisman Trophy winner and Arkansas which scored 50 points on the National Champs and boasts the Heisman Runner up for the second year in a row. Thats the SEC "losers." And South Carolina was bowl eligible but did not get a bid.

8. Boy, Missouri sure got a lot of love.
Beating number 25 in a non-BCS bowl shouldn't have put them past WVU. :(

WVU should be no lower then 4th. The Missouri running back who broke the Bowl rushing record should send a thank you card to the Hog Defense, because they sucked putting an Oreck to shame. And they are my beloved Hogs!

Ohio State has no business in the top ten.

10. BCS title game party
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 09:50 AM by Lasher
Here's a pic of us at my BIL's house in Cincinnati just before the kickoff. I felt soiled after having worn the Buckeye gear for the game but I try to be a good sport. I'm glad we got this picture early on because there wasn't much smiling going on after that.

Hope your wife is doing better.

11. Much better Thank You
We are planning to go down this Saturday. There is an arts and crafts show at the edge of the quarter. I got her a big ole gift card for Christmas and it is burning a hole in her pocket. I'm looking forward to taking a breather from college football, but I see a preseason poll is already out. I may have to offer my two cents worth. Great Pic! One for the memories.
