The Big 10 and the PAC 10.

1. Those conferences also boast some of the strongest academic schools
Stanford, Berkely, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Part of the issue is giving student athletes time to study for finals.

3. LOL
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I worked in college athletics. No one gives a shit about giving *cough* student athletes *cough* time to study for finals. During the month of December, those student athletes are practicing twice a day, doing daily film sessions, having meetings and lifting/training. Studying for exams is not high on the priority list. Just ask the kids from Florida State.

8. You are correct. The quality of the school has nothing to do with the football team.....
Out of the 85 scholarship football players at any of the above mentioned very fine schools.... There aren't 2 to 5 players who could get in under the requirements that non players have to meet. And that's generous. I doubt there are 2 who would. Michigan, Stanford, Virginia, Duke.... you name them, their players are all academic slugs.Maybe not quite Florida state quality slugs but pretty close, overall.

These are just guys we hired to play ball for our schools and act like real students. NCAA requirements make them do some almost useless college work.

Players work out and practice all day year around. The "school" bullshit is window dressing for the dumbasses that watch the games on TV and think these guys are real students.

6. You are so silly
Big Ten schools need cold weather to win and Big Ten athletes (who are real smart) need lots of time to study. Hey, a legitimate NCAA playoff wouldn't effect more then two Big Ten schools anyway. Two. Maybe.

2. also the ones that have the best revenue sharing
the Pac Ten and Big 10 are basically socialist in nature with revenue sharing. you'll notice they also are the two conferences without a revenue-hog championship game.

personally, I think that the big six conferences should be required to have a championship game, and that those six teams (along with two other teams from minor conferences or independants, selected by the computer rankings) should enter a playoff. All other bowls should be eradicated. revenue sharing should be eradicated. only conference champions, determined on the field at a neutral site should be allowed in. there are no other bowl games. the teams play every week from the saturday before christmas to the saturday after new years, let's make this as professional as possible. I figure the winner could get upwards of 50 million. so the only teams who have any postseason at all are those eight. that's it, winner takes all.

or, of course, we could have the highly entertaining system that exists now.
