Lese le bon tom roule (My french spelling ain't very good) but let the good times roll anyway.

Its always an awesome sporting event in the morning in Jax Square in front of St Louis Cathedral with the zealots and their hate filled "religious" signs being bated by those on their way to shitfacedville. Live and free theatre at its best. The zealots almost always lose.

1. "Laizzes les bons temps rouler"(?). Which is also the name of a great corner bar...

... on Magazine halfway uptown. Which, besides for me in college, was also a hangout for my granfather and great uncles "back in the day". One of the great things about NOLA is how bars get "handed down" from generation to generation!

The Mardi Gras after Katrina, I listened to WWOZ all day on the web at work. I've never been so homesick as then. Happy (early) Mardi Gras!

Ahhh, can't wait to get back down. Hopefully this summer.

2. Love the local bars
Vaughans on Lesseps and Marky's way up on Royal. When I'm in the Quarter I do most of my business at either the Tropical Isle on Bourbon and Orleans or Johnny White's Sports Bar. As the years go by my Mardi Gras revelry is driven by the weather. I'm a fair weather reveler and I really hope its a great day.

I guess you know what it means to Miss New Orleans. Hope you make it back sometime.

My wife got me Goin Home, A Tribute to Fats Domino for Christmas. A two CD compilation of his works performed by other artists. Very nice indeed.

3. My wife recently got me "Goin' Back to New Orleans" by Dr. John.
Ironically (unbeknownst to her) a CD I reviewed for KLSU-Baton Rouge and gave heavy airplay to when I was the local music DJ there. Hadn't listened to it in 10-15 years.
