A plea to all BCS voters for the '08 college season......
You voters in the Harris Poll and Coaches Poll who decide which teams play in the champ game.....

Next November, That Ohio school will be looking all great again come about November. They'll lead the nation in all offensive and defensive categories (like this season). They'll have 2 or 3 Heisman Candidates. They'll have some linebacker that's the best of all time. They'll have an offensive lineman who is the best road grader in America.

Don't vote them into either of the top 2 spots again....... PLEASE.

When you see Ohio think........ Hawaii........ only without the goofy shirts and that flowery deal they hang around their necks. Hawaii was 12-0 and you didn't vote them into the big game. You had them (pre Georgia beat-down)at #10, regrettably, too high but at least you didn't allow them in the champ game.

And why didn't you? 'Cause they're friggin' Hawaii. They play a high school schedule. Beating Charleston Southern doesn't mean you're worth a crap.

Same for The Ohio school beating Akron or Northwestern or those other teams doesn't mean they're worth a crap.

Don't fall for this again. PLEASE.

1. Hmm
I seem to remember this same school from the Midwest beating a South Florida team loaded with now studly NFL players not too long ago when everyone said they weren't nearly as good...They are NOT Hawaii no matter what some people think.

2. Don't worry, by some great mistake
Ohio State has a home-and-home with USC in '08/'09.

Here's to hoping that USC can continue being the scourge of the Big Ten (as well as the SEC)
and again loses when visiting the great state of Oregon next year. (to the Beavs, don'tcha know)

3. there shouldn't be a poll until first of october or later

4. did the big ten really do that bad?
Florida was what, number ten or eleven in the country at the time of the Capital One Bowl when they lost to a "lower tier" Michigan program.

Purdue barely lost to top ten BC in the champs sports bowl

Wisconsin loses on an interception in the endzone in what, the final minute(?) to what is surely a top ten Tennessee team if the sec is so great.

Hey, I know, SCOREBOARD, and no moral victories but if the big ten is soooo bad then why didn't the get trounced worse in their bowl games?
EXCEPTIONS being Indiana (dont know why they were there) and Illinois, no one really thought they had a chance against one of the top three teams in the country did they?

Ohio ST. Dug themselves a hole too deep to get out of after the first quarter. SHould they have been in the title game? Clearly no, I blame them for losing and the BCS architects for the crappy bowl matchups. Only a few of the big ones were actually competitive and that's a problem

5. LOL; the message board equivalent of the "Overrated!" chant
And that chant is all-time masochistic idiocy.

Note the basics. Don't denounce the opponent you defeated in a major game, because all that does is diminish your own accomplishment.

Seriously, how can a Gator fan dismiss Ohio St? That means all the posts from Jack from Charlotte about beating a team in a title game by X number of points can now be laughed away, because he deems that vanquished opponent to be someone who didn't belong, the equivalent of Hawaii.

With apologies to Kama Aina, who already lost a coach this week. And a coach who left what I thought was a classless parting line, using the term Pop Warner.

8. I think there is validity
in asking pollsters to wait awhile before, annointing if you will, way early in the season (six months before the season!!) who will be the "nation's best." However, waiting does not sell magazines or spark controvery on boards.

There are now two undefeated teams in the NCAA women's basketball top 25. Number one ranked Connecticut and number 20 Arkansas. Arkansas was most likely preason ranked 587th and most likely was so ranked due to the habit of voters. They've had to win 15 games with no losses to claw into the top 25.

Questioning the validity of early polling is in itself valid.

9. The truth is the truth, dumbass.........
Doesn't matter how bad Florida beat Ohio or LSU beat Ohio, the.... TRUTH... is Ohio is getting into the Champ Game because they're essentially Hawaii. Good record in a bad league. Team still sucks. Ohio is 0-8 vs SEC teams in bowls. Only Miami U. could manage to give them any legitimacy in The Champ Game. They are.....Hawaii.

Ohio is essentially using the Old Miami U. Formula to qualify.... play a one game schedule... Florida State, win it half the time and that qualifies you for The Champ Game because the rest of your schedule is full of Temples and Rutgers. Then you've always at least got a shot.

You know you hate Miami U.'s move to the vaunted ACC because your schedule has been upgraded from zero to "not much." Well not much is too much for Miami U., I guess.

So who's going to be the QB for Miami U in September at Florida Field? That bad QB, Wright is gone. Lyin' Randy booted that worse QB, Freeman from the team and that leaves you with a freshman who has never started a game. Right?
And you thought holding rough, tough Virgina to to a 0-48 loss...at home... was a moral victory.

Hey, I can get you tickets.

PS. Don't you agree that only a complete and utter moron would complain about the schedule difficulty of the team that already plays the #1 most difficult schedule in the country?

6. You obviously missed the requirement from BOSSHOG...
"OSU is required by NCAA rules to be in the championship game"
