IN TRIBUTE

Long after his last pass is fired,
And the Green-and-gold jersey's retired,
We'll look back and remember
At Lambeau each September
All the dreams and the hopes he inspired.

He brought Lombardi's trophy home to Green Bay,
Earned MVP honors along the way.
From his peers he drew praise
for the bar he would raise
on toughness and competitive play.

For the record, he made a great run
With more consecutive starts than anyone.
In this man we take pride
But it's the big kid inside
Who's made football-watching such fun.

Without him, the sport won't be the same.
He's a shoo-in for the Hall Of Fame.
Still, we'll always want more
Of the great Number Four
A legend in the history of the game.
