For BOSSHOG: Aggies, Hogs renewing football rivalry at Cowboys Stadium
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas A&M and Arkansas are renewing their rivalry and their ties to the Dallas area.

A series that dates to 1903 but has been dormant for 17 years will be revived at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium when it opens in 2009. The schools came to the construction site Monday to announce a 10-year contract with rollover clauses that could keep the neutral site game going at least 30 years.

"We hope it lasts for a long, long time," said Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long, barely two months after replacing Frank Broyles.

The Aggies and Razorbacks played every year when they were Southwest Conference rivals, and every other season they would face SMU in Dallas, home to a strong alumni base for both schools and one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country.

I believe that my most important game of the year, UT/OU, will still be played at the old Cotton Bowl even though the Cotton Bowl will not.

1. Thanks My Friend
If things are like they were in the past that will be a home game for the Hogs. Those two teams provided awesome memories from back in the 70's. Hogs also playing a home and home with the Longhorns over the next three years. Wow, lets get the old SWC gang back together again. What are the plans for the Old Cotton Bowl?

7. Your home and home with Texas has been changed I think.
There is a game here in Austin this season, but Arkansas requested their game in Fayetteville be moved to at least 2014. I think Arkansas has a pretty heavy schedule for '09.

I look forward to the renewal of the Hogs-Aggies rivalry. I will NEVER forget the 1989 game - my senior year getting blatantly ripped off by the officials AT Kyle Field. I'm not bitter, really, but I remember it.

Honestly, I wanted to renew our series with LSU played in Houston every year, since the Sooners and Longhorns have Dallas. But, this will be fun, and each team gets a quality non-conference opponent every year.

2. That's one reason I don't like super conferences
They broke up some good rivalries. That's why it must NEVER happen in the Big Ten (or the Pac-10, for that matter)

3. But
its just a joyous occasion, a celebration of the sport if you will when a team, any team, gets to play the Hogs. It has to be the seasons highlight for the fans of the Hogs opponents. The colors, the celebration, the fanfare.

4. So you are saying.....
You want the Hogs to come up and play a game in Big Ten country every season, so we can share the joy?

5. Absolutely, That would be great
but there are so many teams clamoring to play America's College Football team just for the sheer joy of it that all cannot be satisfied.

I would love a home and home for UA and whomever in the Big Ten. I would go out on a limb here and say the Big Ten participant would be the holdup to such a joyous occasion occuring.

And on a third note, My Hogs have lost their luster ever so slightly since they got rid of Houston Nutt as Head Coach. I suspect that luster will be back soon.

6. Oh, I think you would find some takers
Maybe not Michigan or Ohio State, but I'm sure you could get Illinois or Northwestern, or even Minnesota.
