NCAA "Bubble" Predictions?
All I know is the following bubble teams ain't getting in: Ohio State, Florida and Syracuse.

...although way back when there were only 16 teams it might have happened.

I just did a bit of research, and I had to go back to 1980, when neither the Magic-less Michigan State or the Bird-less Indiana State teams made the tournament.

The last time that the previous year's runner up didn't make the tournament was Syracuse in 1997. The last time the defending champion didn't make the field was Kansas in 1989.

Since the tourney went to 64 teams in 1985, only three runners up (Duke '94/'95, Syracuse '96/97, and Houston '84/'85) and two champions (Louisville '86/'87 and Kansas '88/'89) have failed to make the tournament the following year.

4. Have to add. Maryland is OUT.
WTF happened to them? They beat NC at Chapel Hill, push Duke and then they can't beat Va, Clemson Va Tech and BC. I bet they won't even one game in the NIT...:banghead:
