Denver 168 --Seattle 116

Eight in double figures as Nuggets score 168
Kenyon Martin couldn't believe the box score, so he doesn't expect anybody else to, either. "A lot of people are going to think it's a misprint," Martin said. "A lot of people will think there's no way they scored that many points. It's unbelievable. There are no words for it." The Nuggets set NBA season highs for points in a half with 84 and points in a game with a 168-116 rout of the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday night. Denver set a franchise record for most points in a regulation game and fell just 16 points shy of the franchise record for points in a game.

1. The Nugs have won more games that they have since...
I don't know. But they are not in the playoffs yet. Too many good teams in the west.

8. I think the owners are settings things up for the Sonics to suck a lil extra bad...
... so that it'll be easier to move them.

I'm ok with that - fuck the greedy owners wanting the taxpayers to pay all the costs so the owners can reap billions.

11. The Hornets
had to play alot of games last year after the Hurricane and Oklahoma City was quite aggressive in their desire to have the team move permanently to their city.

12. From what I understand Seattle put so much money into the baseball and football complexes
that there is nothing left (or they are unwilling to spend it) for basketball

OKC has shown that it will fully support an NBA franchise.

13. You're right about that
OKC pissed me off royally at their attempts to get the team that we stole from Charlotte. They were quite aggressive about it as was San Antonio in their efforts to get the Saints after the hurricane.

14. The Hornets were more run out of town than stolen
Amazing mix of player misconduct, ownership arrogance/misread, and a public who never forgave them for not being UNC :bounce:

15. Heh. If they're stupid enough to pay bazillions so that the owners can pocket the profits... let em.

5. ESPN Analyst Criticized Sonics Over Durant
I did not watch the whole segment, but when I turned to ESPN News there was an analyst saying that the Sonics had not done enough to progress Kevin Durant along far enough. He even went as far as to say that Durant may lose the rookie of the year because the Sonics have not forced Durant to be accountable and make his game less one dimensional.

9. The owners don't care about the Sonics
they just want to move to Oklahoma City. That's still in the courts as they are trying to break their lease with Key Arena, which runs through 2010.

16. Must be nearly a record
I doubt it's an all-time record, but it should definitely be up there among the top 10.
