Roddick finally ends Federer jinx

Andy Roddick upset world number one Roger Federer with a 7-6 4-6 6-3 win in the Sony Ericsson Open quarter-finals.

It was only Roddick's second win in 17 career meetings against the Swiss star, his last coming in Montreal in 2003.

"He hasn't missed a ball against me for about six years," said the American. "I figured the law of statistics had to work for me eventually."

Roger's been ill. It was probably Andy's only hope. Or the new fiancee is keeping him focused.

...but he can't seem to get back into form and the Australian was back in January when he had mono...hope he gets ready in time for the French.

3. Wow - what a jackass Roddick is - saying Federer's just been lucky.

Wonder what happened to Federer? He's having a Roddick-like year. Oh well - at least we'll see fewer idiotic claims that he's the best ever.
