Stud service has already been arranged

What would you do? I would probably retire him so he goes out in glory and not injured.

1. I think one more after the Belmont if he wins the TC...
Just because historically TC winners do race again. Count Fleet is the only one that didn't. Some racing secretary will write a race for 3YO NW2OtherthanBigBrown for a $1M purse and the powers that be in racing will apply pressure on IEAH to run him. But, that'll be it. No BC Classic matchup with Curlin. No races against older horses. He's the best horse of his foal crop but really this years 3YO's are not that good.

But, I could be wrong and he never races again after the Belmont. IEAH are about the duckets and they could care less about horses or tradition. When BB won the Derby Dutrow placed the blanket of roses over two of the owners shoulders instead of over the withers of BB. After the pictures were taken those owners let the roses fall to the ground and walked off. Some track employee retrieved the blanket from the mud for them.

3. BB wouldn't wear the blanket of flowers after the Florida Derby too...
He's finicky, but I suppose he's earned the right. Now his owners ditching the blanket of roses on the other hand....classless.

I think we'll be lucky to see Big Brown once more but I seem to recall some story this week about shooting for the Travers. And I think Curlin would bury him in a race if they faced each other.

6. Well maybe Dutrow's ego will drive this a bit...
He is very cocky and perhaps even if BB wins the TC he will feel like he still has something to prove and will LOOK for a matchup with Curlin...Yeah, I know, dream on, but one can always hope.....:)

5. I think it would be hysterical
A hit and run Triple Crown winner.

Instead of you're doin' a heck of a job Brownie, it would be Brownie we hardly knew ye.

I'd be shocked if he made it to the Breeders Cup. That requires several prep races if you want to have a realistic shot against Curlin. This crew won't risk something like that, in terms or health or reputation. Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed were each defeated by mid September, within 3 months of winning the Triple Crown.

The Travers is an option but that's a mile and a quarter and would require a prep, something like the Jim Dandy. Gad, Saratoga would be abuzz with a jammed meet if an undefeated Tripler were to make an appearance or two.

If he loses the Belmont it'll be like Smarty Jones, never seen on the track again. If he wins, the owners will never admit they want to call it a career immediately. They'll struggle for something ultra safe, or a rationale to quit. But like Old Broad says, funny how a cough shows up, or some convenient excuse. Like a minor supposed injury that prevents a workout and therefore throws off timing for a prep race, and without a prep they decide to call it a career.

Let's see, how about an over/under of 1.5 more races for Big Brown, after the Belmont. What would you do with that? I'd probably take the under.

7. Well lets just put it in a business point of view.

Hell no. I wouldn't race him knowing that one break would cost me mega-millions.

Now from a fans point of view---- I'd love to see him get the chance against Curlin. Some up above think that Curlin would beat BB.... yeah right.

It kind of reminds me when Tiger Woods turned Pro---- all the naysayers and old-schoolers we're spouting every week that Tiger would be nothing and fade. Finally, they just gave up and now bow to his greatness. I simply can't see how anyone who observed that race, especially the last quarter, would not acknowledge that the horse is a freak. Nobody ever called Curlin a freak. BB would trounce Curlin.

8. trumad, Curlin is a freak, he's been called that many times...

here at DU Horse Racing. He's the best horse in the world right now and Big Brown would have his work cut out for himself and I don't think even Dutrow would be so quick to dismiss Curlin.

Big Brown is a freak. I'm not ready to put him in the Hall of Fame right now, though. But I'm glad so many people are charged up about him. On to Belmont!

10. Really? Wins the Preakness, wins the JC Gold Cup...
against older horses, wins the BC Classic as a 3YO, ships to Dubai and wins handily against the best the world can offer. Had a tough trip in the Derby and was game as hell in the Belmont losing by a head bob. I'd call him a freak. And last time I saw him he was as big as a house and had muscles on muscles. He's as good as Big Brown and certainly more accomplished. They're both freaks.

11. Albarado pounded Curlin to win the Preakness at 1:53/46
while Desormeaux practically did pony tricks down the stretch and still ran a 1:54:86.

Can you imagine if Kent let him fly??? He would have shattered the record.

Let's just say that I would love to see those two race in the future... it would be great.
