DU NCAA Pool

Last year I set up a DU NCAA pool for the Sweet 16. This year I started earlier so we could do the complete tournament. It is on Yahoo Sports. You can enter a maximum of two brackets. We are playing for DU bragging rights.

Here is the link to the pool: DU NCAA Pool You can create brackets now and fill them in starting later today when the 65 team field is set. The scoring is a custom method that I have seen used and makes for good competition. be sure to completely fill out the brackets before the tip of the first game on Thursday around noon EDT. They will close then.

The pool ID is 78700 and the password is "obama".

I will post standings after each day of play.

I picked Kansas and still finished 11 out of 69 in one pool. I won my extended family pool last year.

9. How many rounds must I fill out?

This is neat. I've never done one of these before.

Can I wait until the first round is finished until I make my second round picks?

12. Fill out all of them

Fill out every game all the way through the championship round. Once the tournament starts for real on Thursday afternoon you will not be able to change any picks. Ignore the preliminary game tonight. You do not have to pick that one. Any ones you do not fill in before closing on Thursday will be counted as losses.

14. Only a few players so far

Only 7 brackets have been started so far. We can do better than that. Be sure to fill in the tie breaker on the last page. You have to guess the winner's and loser's scores in the championship game. Yahoo added a nice feature this year that shows the status as incomplete unless you have every game filled in.

I created mine and auto-filled in with top seeds. Then I will go back and edit on Wednesday. Every year the opening round looks bloody but by the second weekend the good teams rise to the top like cream.
