How can such a lively, jovial group of fans like such a boring sport?

Someone explain this to me, I watched a foreign soccer game (for 5 minutes for I wanted to pound my head on the wall from the boredom) and the full staidum was filled with people jumping up and down cheering acting all excited. Yet nothing was happening. A bunch of little losers were kicking a ball around and NOT SCORING!

So its a paradox, how can such a boring lame uncool sport make people jump up and down and chant and wear those silly soccer scarves? WHy don't they watch a REAL sport like baseball and football?

It is an exciting game. It is about patience and stamina and setting things up. If you don't like that, fine. You probably find hockey boring, too. And you probably don't like defensively oriented football games. You don't have to have a score every minute for it to be exciting.
