2000 NCAA Championships: TJ Williams vs Larry Quisel
Another big upset that I remember:

TJ Williams of Iowa was a national champion and would go on to win another national championship the next year. His career record ended up being 98-1, the highest percentage in Iowa team history. This is the only loss he had in his career at Iowa. Larry Quisel was a senior at Boise State and had placed third the year before. He's from Livingston, MT and a year younger than me, so I watched him wrestle plenty of times. He was always a tough, resilient guy and it doesn't surprise me at all that he went as far as he did in college wrestling. Still he was facing an all-time great from Iowa in this match and was definitely a big underdog.
