Jason Bay sucks ass.
I mean, what kind of useless shite goes 3 for 4 with a three run homer to power his team to their 11th straight win? What a slacker.

6. I'm sure he'll go cold
and there will of course be a few assholes who will boo him when he's in a 3-25 slump. The difference between Boston and Pittsburgh is that when he goes into a slump, the Sox can still win. They don't have to rely on Bay to provide all their offense. No one gets that upset when someone's hitting awful but the team is winning.

19. That was actually one of the most memorable World Series for me.
It seemed like most of the country was rooting for that team. Stargell, Parker, Tekulve, Mareno, Gardner...they had a hell of team.

13. Well, not every city can have the
strong tradition of baseball success that Pittsburgh does. Thanks for Wakefield, though. If I remember right, he was a rookie on the Pirates last team to finish over .500.

He had not perfected his knuckler.

18. He looked pretty good the year before
in the NLCS against Atlanta. But yes, the knuckler is fickle and has wandered off on him a few times in Boston as well. I don't know if any ever "perfects" it.

4. Guy's turning into Mr. Clutch
Edited on Mon Apr-27-09 09:06 PM by Upton
Two game winning 9th inning HRs in the last 4 games. Maybe I was wrong about the Sox missing Manny...I sure wish they hadn't traded him to the Dodgers though.

Edit: the first was a game tying HR.

8. Wakefield gave us another quality start.
Gave up one hit in the first, then nothing until he was lifted after the 7th. The Indians had great pitching tonight, too, so Wake's outing was big.

Manny is still a better hitter than Bay, and always will be. It was just the extra baggage that ruined it for the team and the fans here. Bay is so down to earth and business like when it comes to the game that it's hard not to be happy with how things worked out. I'm just glad Manny got traded to the NL, because he would have killed the Sox every time he played the them I bet.
