I predict that Vancouver will win the Cup.
Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 03:59 PM by MrPerson
Boston will beat Carolina
Washington will beat Pittsburgh
Detroit will beat Anaheim
Vancouver will beat Chicago

Boston will beat Washington
Vancouver will beat Detroit

Vancouver will beat Boston.

Disagree if you must.

The Penguins don't go to the net enough to win it.

And they don't play sixty minutes.

1. You're like the Repubs downplaying a McCain debate performance ahead of time.
Set that bar low enough and just showing up is a victory.

Philly outplayed them.

3. I don't see Vancouver getting past Chicago
Vancouver is not very good offensivly. They are gonna have their hands full with Toews and Kane.

Vancouvers offense is bolstered by an aging Mats Sundin and the Sedins who are not exactly juggernaughts.

Chicago's Dmen are better than Vancouver's by leaps and bounds.

Luongo is a good goalie but he's not Brodeur, Roy or Hasek that's gonna lift a team above their level of incompetence. I think you're lookin at Chicago VS Detroit in the western finals.

Probably Pittsburgh VS Boston in the east. Both those teams are facing teams that just went seven in the opening rounds. They've had time to lick their wounds while Washington and Carolina are both banged up.

4. Not a chance.
Vancouver loses to Chicago in this round. Most likely in six.
Washington beats Pittburgh in five unless Fleury steals an extra one for them.
Detroit gets by the Ducks in a tough six.
Boston beats Carolina in five.

I'll make third round assesments after this one is over. Injuries and suspensions could change things.

5. I don't think so
though I will be rooting for them since the Sharks are out. I still think the Wings have the inside track but..

Vancouver should take the young Blackhawks in 6..maybe 7. After February, the Canucks went 23-7-2..they are one of the best defensive teams in the league and when Luongo is hot, I'd put him up against anybody. Vancouver is also underrated offensively, they had 5 guys with 20 goals or more and the Sedin twins line can be a real handful... strangely enough, both twins finished with 82 points. A key here could be game one, Vancouver might be rusty (they've been off over a week) and it's a chance for the Hawks to steal home ice back right from the start...we'll see.

Detroit over Anaheim in 6

Boston over Carolina in 7

Pens over Caps in 6...the goaltending is the key here...you know you'll get a solid performance from Fleury, while both Theodore and Varlamov have looked shaky.

Anyway,IMO, the respective conference finals will feature Canucks/Wings and Bruins/Pens

16. Oops
I don't follow hockey very closely, but I do know that the Blackhawks beat the Canucks last night. I have no clue whether they will win the Cup or not though. But what the heck, Let's go Blackhawks!
