5. I grew up
in a family of NY Yankee fans. One of my uncles was able to bring our family to meet the team before and after games. There were so many great players, that it's hard to pick one. But I think Al Downing was up there pretty high.

From watching tv, I always was hugely impressed with Willie Mays.

(Note: My brother has a 1963 Yankee's yearbook, in mint condition, autographed by the entire team. He asked me if I thought I could sell it in Cooperstown for him, something I refuse to do. But I'm curious if any DUers have any estimates of its value? Thanks.)

remember that grand slam he had off Greg Maddox in the '89 NLCS, or the series clinching base hit? It's too bad he had to go and sign with the Rangers...

17. I'll never forget the base hit off of Wild Thing. What a battle that
series was against the Cubs.

The other thing I remember is Will saying the F word on live TV in the dugout one year after the Giants clinched the West against San Diego. I can't remember if that was 1987 or 89??

Anyway .. he was a stud

21. That's ridiculous, if you consider hitting one dozen fewer homers
than Bonds the record.

This isn't surprising coming from the guy who has jinxed both the Bruins and Celtics this year, and actually predicted the Nuggets would beat the Fakers in 6 games, even though LA has home court. :eyes:

25. I'm not sure which cheater you're referring to. It certainly can't
be Bonds since he hasn't been charged with violating a single MLB rule or hasn't been convicted of a single crime.

No proof what so ever he knowingly cheated.

And I don't worship any person. But I do fiercely defend people .. especially if they're being falsely accused by big mouth Boston fans.

31. I still think he's the most underrated player of his era
Sure he won the titles and MVP's, but I hardly ever hear anyone mention his name.

In the nineties, Jordan dominated, but Hakeem was the next best player, easily.

57. Oh I'd bet on it alright .. especially if the Fakers' opponent
is the loser team from Denver.

I'm not surprised considering their uniforms are those abysmal powder blue color, which I believe was the same color as the Iraqi Army.

But in all seriousness, don't worry. In just a matter of days, the punishment will be over (that being United States sports subjected to Denver sports team postseason).

Maybe you'll learn the same lesson trumad -- he who backs out of bets and then pretends he's an AIG CEO under oath,

My favorite baseball players in a tie are Willie Mays and Juan Marichal.
