Never Again
say it like you mean it!!! http://www.cafepress.com/neveragaininc

It's my daughter's. Also please visit her NARAL internship blog http://www.deetstheintern.blogspot.com/ We need this generation to understand what's at stake. They simply can not afford to take their rights for granted.

1. Poignant words for me.
Never Again - two words that jump off the page and rip through my heart every time I see them - they were the words captioned over a photograph of my mom in Ms Magazine back in 1973. She died from an abortion and until now I've thought of them only in that context. At this point I don't know that I'd have the guts to explain about my mother if someone inquired. I'm still working on that. In the meantime, though, there would be no shortage of "Never Agains" I could reply with. Thanks for the link.

5. I think of a friend who died in 1968
We never did find out if she did it herself or she went to a butcher. We only know she died hard, a ruptured uterus, massive blood loss, massive infection.

Never again.

However, I think I'll wait to order until they pick a different charity.

6. what would your preferred charity be?
She intends to change regularly, so suggestions are welcome. (I warned her that the Red Cross might not be the way to go.......but do kids listen?)

7. Salvation Army is always good
because their top guy doesn't live like a sultan and the proceeds actually go to helping people.

Doctors Without Borders is my favorite. They do a lot of good all around the globe.

UNICEF is another good one.

Oxfam is still a pretty good one, feeding people and giving them safe water and the tools they need to feed themselves.

That's right off the top of my head, all good general charities. One is religious, but they don't harangue people before they help them, a failing with other sectarian charities.

The local Red Cross is worthy of donations. The National Red Cross has a lot of problems, some of which predate Liddy Dole's mismanagement but most of which do not.

8. Thanks for the welcome everyone
Very nice to have found my way here.

Joneschick -
I'm going to wait for another charity myself before buying probably a few shirts. Preferably one that benefits women - a Planned Parenthood type organization or one that assists women with transportation and accommodations when traveling for services.
