A Verdict to Terminate
The look on the doctor’s face was grim as she laid out the odds. “The fetus has a less than ten percent chance of making it to term, and probably less than a one percent chance,” she said. “Its chance of survival beyond birth is some fraction of that. I’m sorry.”

This was the specialist at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, where my wife Melinda and I had gone after receiving a negative initial ultrasound. It was the worst-case scenario that we had dreaded, but at least it made our choice clear. We would have to terminate the pregnancy.

2. Yeah? So? They chose to have the baby. Does that mean that
no one deserves to have a choice?

Take your pro-birth childishness someplace where they'll buy into your nonsense, misogyny and lack of scientific understanding.

4. Some Not Very Careful Readers on DU
How did the second two commenters possibly miss the conclusion of the article:

I also recognize now, more than ever, that abortion is an intensely personal decision. Without knowing the reasons behind someone’s choice to continue or end a pregnancy, it is all to easy to make erroneous assumptions about what may or may not have caused someone to make this excruciating decision.

Seriously, I'm disappointed.
