Rick Santorum pledges to defund contraception
Seriously?!

I would like to personally find and smack every person who has told me over the past 15 years that the pro-forced-birthers only cared about murdered babies, that they didn't not give a rat's ass about contraception, when the own words of the movement leaders indicated otherwise.

Rick Santorum pledged to repeal all federal funding for contraception, during a recent interview with CaffeinatedThoughts.com editor Shane Vander Hart, arguing that birth control devalues the act of procreation. “One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country,” the former Pennsylvania senator explained. “It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be”:

SANTORUM: is supposed to be within marriage. It’s supposed to be for purposes that are yes, conjugal…but also procreative. That’s the perfect way that a sexual union should happen…This is special and it needs to be seen as special.

3. So what if "it" is within a marriage?
Few married people want a pregnancy and a baby every year. Some people want only one or NONE.

All of this is choice, too. Geeze.

5. No kidding
Being one of those horrible married women neglecting my god-mandated duty to go forth and multiply, that was pretty much my first thought.

6. I have three children.
They are each eighteen months apart. They know that they were planned. I figured that sets a good example for them in itself.

None of them have any children. They may choose to remain childless. That is up to them. I will never question their choices.

-another mother for choice!

11. It Does Set A Good Example
My daughter knows she was planned as well and I have always thought of that as a good example. She is of college age and knows that decisions regarding birth control, childbearing, etc. are for her to make, not anyone else. She also knows I will support her decisions.

Count me in as another mom for choice!

7. It just kills me
that his name is so close to my maiden name, my mother's married name, Santoro. There's some real twisted irony.

9. yes, but
his is the "neuter" form of the Latin word. How ... odd, eh? ;)

Weirdest name I've ever heard. It isn't actually a Latin word I think, but if it were it would mean "holy thing" or something like.

8. Overpopulation
I'm sure Republicans will be more than happy to foot the welfare that's needed to make due with all these unplanned pregnancies. Cheers to reason....
