Pot Houses!?
Edited on Wed Mar-07-07 03:13 PM by wildbilln864
A great idea!

snip/
This much we do know: Isochanvre is flame-proof, non-toxic, 1/9 the weight of cement, retains heat in winter, is cool in the summer and is unpalatable to rats, insects, or termites.
Because of its flexibility and strength it is the ideal material for building in areas susceptible to earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes; and over time the plant elements bind with the minerals to make the building stronger and more valuable as it ages.

1. Hum,
I was just thinking today on the way into work, that there has to be a replacement for plastic, since it uses alot of oil and is fast becoming less cost effective...

2. Hemp is also good food. And it builds soil rather than depleting it as it grows.
It IS completely crazy to oppose Hemp cultivation.

5. You are going to piss off the timber barons
Like Charles Hurwitz who really wants ALL the redwoods.

What a SMART idea. Using the leftover hemp from ethanol production, of course!

7. It only takes 4 months to grow the raw material for a house!
Isochanvre is mixed with hydraulic lime and water to bind it together, then packed into timber form work and left to solidify like concrete. It is easy to work with and requires less skill than common brickwork. Construction times are lower than brick, no cavity is required and neither is a damp proof membrane. As an additional environmental benefit, it takes only 4 months to grow the raw material for a house.

Americans need to get over their fixation on pot, and take a close look at the advantages.

BTW, this is NOT the same pot you are used to hearing about. I read another article that said you would have to smoke a hectare of this kind to get any effect

Did Dow lobby to have pot eradicated because it competed with their plastics industry?

if you could grow your own out back, you'd have no need to pay them for their prozac, zoloft, valium, xanax, etc! Pot is the best antidepressent IMHO!

on edit: See, Hell I'm feeling better already! lol.

Until halfway through all these posts, I thought this was about a material being recommended for building houses to grow pot in (from OP, "Pot Houses").
