He's all excited about the "victory" over teacher seniority. In his glee, he made a really nice and stupid typo. (I notice he doesn't ever talk about the crushing number of cuts that brought this situation to a head in the CA public school system.)

6. Our associations (unions) have shot themselves and us in the foot
by not getting out in front of this issue. Not like we didn't know it was coming. We should have had our own proposals for "merit pay" and evaluations. Now when we protest these unfair and punative laws we sound like whiners opposed to accountability.

7. Ain't that the truth?
I asked many years ago if we shouldn't be starting on a merit pay plan. Opposing it didn't seem to be working well when that was the only strategy we had.
