First, the animation is brilliant. Really brought the subject to life for me.

Second, the talk by Sir Ken Robinson puts today's educational methods into a historical perspective, and provides persuasive arguments against standardized testing, etc.

I found this a fascinating 11 minutes.

strengths and ability levels, and think it is practical to educate this way. An industrial model has served us well, as we've become an industrialized society. The question in the future should be...what kind of society do we wish to become? Shaping education will depend greatly on the needs of the society and its mores and values, not just a corporate culture that seeks to homogenize our students and workers. Unfortunately, this will depend on leadership willing to question the wisdom and expedience of selling out to the corporate powers behind Standardized testing, charter schools, and privatization. Waiting for Superman, indeed.
